Bacha Bazi (Boy Play): Morally Standing By [UPDATED]

21 September 2015 @ 13:59

The following report is very, very disturbing, but, alas, not surprising considering the types of people on the Civilian and Military sides running our Armed Forces…and considering how far we in The West have fallen as a Civilization.

From The New York Times, Joesph Goldstein reporting, we learn:

In his last phone call home, Lance Cpl. Gregory Buckley Jr. told his father what was troubling him: From his bunk in southern Afghanistan, he could hear Afghan police officers sexually abusing boys they had brought to the base.

“At night we can hear them screaming, but we’re not allowed to do anything about it,” the Marine’s father, Gregory Buckley Sr., recalled his son telling him before he was shot to death at the base in 2012. He urged his son to tell his superiors. “My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because it’s their culture.”

Rampant sexual abuse of children has long been a problem in Afghanistan, particularly among armed commanders who dominate much of the rural landscape and can bully the population. The practice is called bacha bazi, literally “boy play,” and American soldiers and Marines have been instructed not to intervene — in some cases, not even when their Afghan allies have abused boys on military bases, according to interviews and court records.

The policy has endured as American forces have recruited and organized Afghan militias to help hold territory against the Taliban. But soldiers and Marines have been increasingly troubled that instead of weeding out pedophiles, the American military was arming them in some cases and placing them as the commanders of villages — and doing little when they began abusing children.

“The reason we were here is because we heard the terrible things the Taliban were doing to people, how they were taking away human rights,” said Dan Quinn, a former Special Forces captain who beat up an American-backed militia commander for keeping a boy chained to his bed as a sex slave….

The policy of instructing soldiers to ignore child sexual abuse by their Afghan allies is coming under new scrutiny, particularly as it emerges that service members like Captain Quinn have faced discipline, even career ruin, for disobeying it.

After the beating, the Army relieved Captain Quinn of his command and pulled him from Afghanistan. He has since left the military.

Four years later, the Army is also trying to forcibly retire Sgt. First Class Charles Martland, a Special Forces member who joined Captain Quinn in beating up the commander.

When asked about American military policy, the spokesman for the American command in Afghanistan, Col. Brian Tribus, wrote in an email: “Generally, allegations of child sexual abuse by Afghan military or police personnel would be a matter of domestic Afghan criminal law.” He added that “there would be no express requirement that U.S. military personnel in Afghanistan report it.” An exception, he said, is when rape is being used as a weapon of war.

Listen Tribus [I won’t call you by your rank because you don’t deserve it — you’re just rank-smelling], the express requirement is a Moral one. Americans, in case you haven’t heard, Tribus, are a Moral People who don’t tolerate the raping of children. You’re nothing but a dullard and a drone, bucking for Perfumed Prince status, obviously. You’re a disgrace to the uniform of The United States. If you have any Moral Sense, you will retire immediately, seek Repentance, and work to help these Children you let be abused so horribly by a backward culture and a Barbarous ‘religion’.

This is what happens when the cancer of Multiculturalism pervades the mind.

This is what happens when people riddled with the cancer of Multiculturalism are allowed to hold positions of Power And Control.

This is what happens when Leftist Thinking is embraced by a whole nation.

A perfect example of this can be found in the case of this Lance Corporal:

Some soldiers believed that the policy made sense, even if they were personally distressed at the sexual predation they witnessed or heard about.

“The bigger picture was fighting the Taliban,” a former Marine lance corporal reflected. “It wasn’t to stop molestation.”

Still, the former lance corporal, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to avoid offending fellow Marines, recalled feeling sickened the day he entered a room on a base and saw three or four men lying on the floor with children between them. “I’m not a hundred percent sure what was happening under the sheet, but I have a pretty good idea of what was going on,” he said.

You had a Moral Obligation — an obligation higher than the one to follow orders — to stop it, sir. When you take your Service Oath, you don’t put your Morality in a box and store it somewhere out of the way. All members of the U.S. Armed Forces are obligated to disobey orders that are Immoral. And: you’re held to a higher standard because, Goddammit, you’re an American and a member of Western Civilization.

You, ‘non-offending’ Lance Corporal, should hold your head in Shame.

Instapundit comments:

So wait, all this yammering about “white privilege” could have simply been responded to with a “tough, it’s my culture” response? Who knew? Me, I prefer the Sir Charles Napier approach** to barbaric customs. But that requires a culture whose leaders have confidence in it. Our leaders are more embarrassed and apologetic.

And that fact causes them to allow these kind of atrocities — rape of children and Honor Killings — to occur with impunity. Who knows what others they’re turning a blind eye to. Our Military Leaders, both Civilian and in uniform, who are creating and enforcing these policies are acting like their counterparts in the Nazi Armed Forces [yeah, I said it — because it’s true].

Ordering U.S. troops to ignore Child Abuse and Honor Killing murders should be a Court Martial Offense.

That Officers and Civilians in charge of our Military should put our men and women in uniform in such a position is utterly and totally unforgivable.

That Officers and Civilians in charge of our Military should allow children to be raped to not offend cultural sensibilities and allow girls to be murdered because they transgressed the dogma of the Barbaric ‘religion’ known as Islam is vile and disgusting.

We should be — and must be — ashamed, and this should spur us to act.

UPDATE at 1435…

Stacy McCain is dead solid perfect [per usual]:

…But also notice the rest of the media, while finding time to jump on Ben Carson for criticizing Islam, is not asking Democrats about this horrific policy of arming gay Muslim pedophiles at U.S. taxpayer expense, and punishing American troops who don’t like it.

The depraving and degrading of our Armed Forces continues apace…and the nationalizing of our police forces does, as well.

*If TNYT changes the text of the report [not something
unheard of] because of a backlash from pro-Jihadist groups,
I have a copy of the text as of 0700 this morning, which I will
gladly share with you.

**General Sir Charles Napier: ‘Be it so. This burning of widows
is your custom; prepare the funeral pile. But my nation has
also a custom. When men burn women alive we hang them,
and confiscate all their property. My carpenters shall therefore
erect gibbets on which to hang all concerned when the widow
is consumed. Let us all act according to national customs.’

Sounds like a plan, Insty.
