#BaltimoreUprising – The Star-Splattered Banner

28 April 2015 @ 19:19

Everybody sing!…

Oh-oh say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;

O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

No…it got looted…then burned.

    I hope we are seeing the beginning of the end of the Blue Model here.

      Don’t hold your breath. As long as the proponents and proprietors of Blue Model city governance hold out any hope that someone else is going to come up with the money to save them from themselves, they’ll keep on the same course. Not even the most brutally honest conservative pundit or politician will tell cities that help is not on the way, that they must look to themselves for deliverance. Not even the modest bailout measures Obama has given Detroit will save that benighted city. I will take more than a few Detroits to convince the other almost Detroits that it’s solely up to them to adapt or die. Virtually all Blue Model proponents will insist to the bitter end that the only problem with the Blue Model is that it’s underfunded.
