Hey Fellow Bitter Twitterers….
If we take the widest and wisest view of a Cause, there is no such thing as a Lost Cause, because there is no such thing as a Gained Cause. We fight for lost causes because we know that our defeat and dismay may be the preface to our successors’ victory, though that victory itself will be temporary; we fight rather to keep something alive than in the expectation that it will triumph.
I rarely ask for a favor, but this is going to be an exception. But the great thing about granting me this favor is that it will also benefit you and our struggle to Restore Freedom and Ordered Liberty.
One of the most important voices in our War against those who would enslave us all gave-up blogging a number of months ago, and our Discourse has been the poorer for it.
Every struggle against Tyranny needs it’s Samuel Adamses, it’s John Adamses, it’s John Dickinson’s, it’s Thomas Paines — in other words, people who posses the happy talent of being able to dissect the motivations of the Tyrants, exposing them for the destructive evil they are, and of being able to clearly put into words what we believe, collating those ideas that animate us into a coherent and resonant form.
In these modern Dark Times, there have been a few who have done The Founders proud. Andrew Breitbart comes to mind, as does Andrew McCarthy, Mark Steyn, Stacy McCain — just to name four out of, perhaps, a dozen or two. That’s not many in a country crawling with millions Apparatchiks who serve the Tyranny Agenda and millions more who drink the vile Kool-Aid on offer from the Despots and their minions, but people like us have always had to rely on quality over quantity [ask The Founders] as an operating principle.
One of the most important of the few has been Jeff Goldstein.
His courage has caused him to be pilloried and shunned and mocked. Attempts have been made [with, sadly, some success] to delegitimize him, question his motives, denigrate his character. Such have been the actions of jealous and envious cretins on the Right. We expect the Left, morally bankrupt as they are, to attack such men, so the attacks from those supposedly on our side are, in this case, more abhorrent and disgusting.
Now, more than ever, as we sink into the foul and fetid pit of enslavement, we need men of Jeff’s character out there waging the War against Totalitarianism [especially, here in America, against the Soft Tyranny being imposed by the Left and accepted suicidally by the Sheeple Class].
In a rare post today, over at his site Protein Wisdom, Jeff declares:
My thoughts on coming back now are this: because I’ve learned the importance of Twitter reach in breaking through as a voice in this latest iteration of new media, I have set a goal to attract 5000 Twitter followers. If I can reach that goal — unlikely, given that I’ve been holding steady in the 3300 + range for a long time now — I’ll make a tentative return to see if I’m once again simply spitting into the wind, or if the winds have changed a bit, and my spittle finds its way to those targets who deserve, desperately, to be covered by it.
The Favor: If you have a Twitter Account, but do not, as yet, Follow Jeff [@proteinwisdom], then do so right now.
His absence from the fray at this point in time is as bad as if Samuel Adams had retired from public life in 1771.

Thanking you in advance…
I remain Your Humble & Obedient Servant,
Let us contemplate our forefathers and posterity; and resolve to maintain the rights bequeathed to us from the former, for the sake of the latter. — Instead of sitting down satisfied with the efforts we have already made, which is the wish of our enemies, the necessity of the times, more than ever, calls for our utmost circumspection, deliberation, fortitude, and perseverance. Let us remember that “if we suffer tamely a lawless attack upon our liberty, we encourage it, and involve others in our doom.” It is a very serious consideration, which should deeply impress our minds, that millions yet unborn may be the miserable sharers of the event.
—Samuel Adams, writing as ‘CANDIDUS’ in the Boston Gazette, 14 October 1771
