Babin of Texas voted Present

Not Voting: Boehner, Carter (TX), Gowdy, Nunnelee, Young (AK)

Mia Love is a disappointment…but she is very much not alone in her betrayal, in her declaration that she is a Loyalist.

The mindset of these Republicans is the same as those who refused to take action against the British Government before 1775 — they are in for a rude awakening.

Trey Gowdy did not cast a vote, but in a statement made clear that he is nothing but Loyalist Scum, ready to do the bidding of the Despots in Washington:

Gowdy Statement on Speaker Vote

Washington, Jan 6
Rep. Gowdy (R-SC) released this statement on the Speaker vote:

“A cancelled flight, due to weather, from South Carolina to Washington this morning regrettably prevented me from being in Washington for today’s Speaker vote.  I apologize to my constituents and my colleagues. My wife and I were traveling this morning in an effort to minimize the amount of school she (a 1st grade teacher) and our daughter (in high school) would miss.”

“Had our flight not been cancelled, I would have voted for our Conference nominee, John Boehner. The position of Speaker of the House is a difficult job as evidenced by the fact that so few members seek the position.  Speaker Boehner was approved overwhelmingly by the Conference in November. In fact, not a single other name was placed in nomination.”

The Treachery of these Loyalists must never be forgotten, especially if we are able to effect a Restoration of our Freedoms and Liberties.  Their political Perfidy, their Moral Treason, must disqualify them from ever having a say in the reclamation of America.

Let me end this post with a sentiment of Jeff Goldstein’s that I fully share:

…I will just say this: sayonara, national GOP. You don’t need me anyway, so you’ll take it as no real unkindness if I say I’m just not into you anymore. Now get dressed and take off. Your money’s on the dresser.

OUTLAW.

I was disappointed in Gowdy, but was glad my Rep, the Honorable Jeff Duncan voted against Boehner. I was pretty sure he was against “Cryin'” John, but wrote him anyway to impress upon him how much we needed new leadership in the house.

I’m not surprised with Mr. Emmer. He’s been a team member, and wants to build bridges rather than throw bombs like Mrs. Bachmann did. Notably, he showed up at a State Legislative endorsing convention for a dissenting legislator to get him to lose the endorsement. He wants to be “in” with the leadership.

However, one rep did say this was the wrong time for a fight like this. I think that bears food for thought.
