Join Or Die

The following exchange, between RI Red and Dicentra, occurred on Saturday Evening, over in the Comments section of this post at Protein Wisdom

RI Red:

So what exactly has to happen to get people off of the couch? The happenings of the last six years under ANY other president would have sparked a violent revolution. Have they put Soma in the water system?

‘So what exactly has to happen to get people off of the couch? … Have they put Soma in the water system?’

They’ve worn us down. When we holler about one thing, another thing comes along that we holler about, then another, and then another.

The 2010 elections were supposed to shake the Establicans from their stupor. It did not. Mostly because it wasn’t a stupor but intractable corruption.

All that effort, all that outrage, all that campaigning and stuff and where did it get us?

Nowhere, is what.

I think Dicentra is quite correct: for over a century the Left In America has been slowly wearing us down, making us believe that we cannot ‘fight city hall’, that attempting to do so is a grand waste of time. They’ve done this primarily through the actions of the Bureaucrats who serve them [though some of these Apparatchiks are so ignorant, they think they are merely serving their own criminal intentions, when, in fact, the Left encourages them to continue on, all in the name of ‘collapsing The System’, and, thus, reaps the better, more useful benefit].

But there is another factor that plays a big part in the acquiescence of Americans to Tyranny: a sizeable portion of our population are content to enjoy the Luxuries and Entertainments and Sexual License offered by a Society that has liberated itself from Morality and leave everything else to those who gain satisfaction from wielding Power And Control. And the sad thing is, the Despots did not have to contaminate our water systems with Soma — these Libertines did it to themselves voluntarily, of their own Free Will. They have decided that satisfaction of their Desires is much more important than the safeguarding of their Lives, their Liberties, and their True Happiness. They have gladly and willingly sold their Souls for the orgasmic thrills of Enjoyments without meaning.

No Republican form of government can survive when the citizens of it — who are, least we forget, the Sovereignty that animates it, that gives it Vigor and Life — reject and mock Virtue, who discard the wisdom of their Ancestry, who refuse to meet their obligations to their own and the Republic’s Posterity.

There are some us, like Dicentra and RI Red, who are ready to fight to restore our Freedoms and Liberties, but they’re vastly outnumbered, and those others who are in possession of the same spirit and Fortitude are scattered across a large country.

We must work to marshal our forces if there is to be any chance of preserving what The Founding Fathers bequeathed to us.

We must Join Or Die.

…An awakening Caution to Americans! Lest by tamely submitting to be plundered, they encourage their Plunderers to grasp at all they have.

The Merchants of this Continent have passively submitted to the Indignity of a Tribute; and the Landholders, tho’ Sharers in the Indignity, have been perhaps too unconcern’d Spectators of the humiliating Scene. Posterity, who will no doubt revenge their Fathers Wrongs, may also be ashamed, when in the Page of History they are informed of their tame Subjection. Had the Body of this People shown a proper Resentment, at the time when the proud Taskmasters first made their appearance, we should never have seen Pensioners multiplying like the Locusts in Egypt, which devoured every green Thing. I speak with Assurance; because it seldom has happened if ever, that even a small People has been kept long in Bondage, when they have unitedly and perseveringly resolv’d to be Free.

—Samuel Adams, writing as ‘VALERIUS POPLICOLA’ in the Boston Gazette, 05 October 1772

The bigger question is what does it take to get patriots off the porch. We must all ask ourselves what is our trigger.

    • 16 June 2014 @ 23:43 23:43

Samuel Adams had to bide his time waiting for a series of triggers.

But, question is, do we have the time?

It may be over already. But what is it that’s collapsing? What might we be defending? The welfare state?

        Damn, that’s cynical.

I think a quote from the Declaration of Independence is appropriate in this twilight of freedom:

“He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.”

Yeah, I’m looking at you EPA.

Ever heard the label “Three Percent” or “Three Percenters”?
It is reportedly the size of Americans who ACTIVELY TOOK PART in the American Revolution.

    THREE PERCENT made it happen.
So, SCR*W the fatalism of “we are vastly outnumbered by passive zombies” cr*p.

The percentage cited by most historians is thirty percent, often expressed as ‘one-third’.

Morality and virtue are important and they were the basis for warnings that accompanied the approval of the Constitution. That being that if virtuous men did not protect the government, then it would end. But, we can not legislate morality and certainly not virtue. That is from the soul, not the institution of the government, but the men running it. We do not have those men in either party or among the many bureaucrats that run and manipulate the laws and regulations. My thought is that when the economy finally collapses, the ultimate desire of this president and his group, that we will have revolution. Many that I know are preparing for that certainty.

The Left hopes that, if we don’t just roll-over and accept our Enslavement, Revolution would result – and that would be horrific.

If we are forced to take up arms, it must be in Rebellion, where our goal is a Restoration of our Freedoms and Liberties.

Speaking hypothetically and for entertainment purposes only, it may be that certain folks out there have already given up on politics and politicians and are stockpiling ammo and canned goods against the day that the Democrats’ fifty-year-long devotion to the Cloward-Piven strategy succeeds and the cancerous, rotting government that once served us and maintained order collapses under its own necrotic weight. At seventeen trillion dollars of debt, trillion with a T, that day may be coming even sooner than we fear, and when it comes, then, perhaps, we might see a certain sort of order restored by patriots.

    Like the man says:

“The old world passes away. Together we shall forge a new one, in fire and blood! From the ashes of this world, we shall build a better one! Let chaos cleanse the world!”
