How About A Little Breather…

24 May 2014 @ 17:57

Haven’t done one of this since the Summer of 2011…

We all need a little breather. And, hey, it’s Saturday Night and the lumpwort lickspittles of the Leftist god and the nibbling nitwit nimrods of our natural rights are off doing whatever it is pathetic pusillanimous parasites do in their sorry-arse slime-ridden [and, in some cases, jug-eared] social lives, so let’s kick back and relax a bit…

This exchange in the Comments section of a Protein Wisdom post sums-up the way my thinking has gone today:

Three hours without a single comment, at PW?

It’s a beautiful Memorial Day weekend after a long hard winter.

Indeed.  It ’twas a hard Winter weather-wise and existentially.  And we know it’s only going to get worse as we journey deeper and deeper into these Dark Times.  So, as a Doctor, I recommend we stop for a few hours and relax a bit, recharge our Spirits, before we Outlaws saddle-up and head back raiding the outposts of the Tyrants.

-Last Sunday, PJ Lifestyle published a post featuring a video from the old Boston Punk/New Wave band The Neats [you can view it here].  I knew these guys and my first band, The Bureaucrats, played a gig or two with them.  They were pretty damn good in their prime [although I’ll never forgive Phil from stealing one of my riffs — in that picture over at PJM, Phil is on the left (of course)].

Here are two of their best songs…

=Six:

=Do The Things:

-Another band around the Boston Scene at that time [late-70’s/early-80’s] was Mission Of Burma:

-A little over a half-decade before I got involved in that Scene, this guy put Boston on the map as a place innovative music:

-In my opinion, the best band to come out of the whole Boston Scene [next to The Bureaucrats, of course] was Human Sexual Response.  No one could sing like them.  No one could play like them.  They were pros in every sense of the word.

=Here’s my favorite number:

=Here they are reunited in 2012, thirty years after their break-up [all original members returned]:

L-R singers: Windle Davis, Dini Lamot, Casey Cameron, Larry Bangor
Malcolm Travis – drums
Rich Gilbert – guitar
Chris Maclachlan – bass

-Wish I had some Bureaucrats video to show you, but we were never able to find it.  So, I leave you with The Atlantics:

-Oh, and by the way…as we thought back then and still do now: The Cars Suck.

-I leave you with some Swing, with a Rock ‘N’ Roll twist:

Enjoy yourself
It’s later than you think.
