Kentucky Votin’ Comin’ Down

21 May 2014 @ 20:12

The question before Kentucky’s conservatives after Granny Mitch McConnell’s victory in the GOP Senate Primary is: which of three options to choose from in November when he’s up against the Democratic candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes:

1) Vote for McConnell because it’s better to elect a Establishment Republican then a Leftist; or

2) Stay home, let the chips fall where they may — this way, one will not be complicit when a re-elected McConnell does his usual schtick: betraying conservative ideas in order to maintain his position in the Establishment Elite Squad [this is tempting]; or

3) Vote for the Democrat because a McConnell loss will send a message to the GOP Establishment [yeah, you’ve got your majority, but you ain’t got the leader you rallied behind and sucked-up to].

If I were a citizen of Kentucky [as my direct maternal ancestors were up until right before The Civil War], I would lean towards #3.

Over at Stacy McCain’s place, in the Comment section of a post on the Primary, Friend In The Ether Adjoran commented:

Remember that by not voting for the LOTE [Lesser Of The Evils] , you are voting for a greater evil.

Matt_SE responded:

And in this case, the greater evil is McConnell.

He’s right because Granny Mitch as Majority Leader will inflict much more damage on the conservative cause than this Grimes imbecile ever would.

However, this is not enough.  A little cooperation among conservative voting blocks from different states is necessary because, if McConnell loses, one of the other Hacks, like John Cornyn, are likely to take over the leadership of the GOP in the Senate.  And this Establishment Apparatchik could end-up being as bad, if not worse, than the turtle from the Bluegrass State.

Conservatives in a state where a GOP Establishment type ends-up running against a Democrat must turn out and vote for the Democrat.  This goes for both Senate and House candidates [especially the dipsomaniac Speaker].

If the Republicans gain control of the Senate and the Establishment types are in charge, they will do such horrific damage to the conservative brand [aided gleefully and giddily by very cooperative Leftists in politics and the media and Society in general] that it may never recover in time to prevent the violent confrontations that are lurking on the far horizon in The United States between Americans and the Treasonous Leftist Enemy.  Regarding the House: the present GOP Leadership must be wiped out for the same reasons.

Look, GOP officials at the national level, and in many states, have been actively working for several years to change the rules and procedures to make it very hard or near impossible for real conservative candidates to succeed.  Therefore, because time is short, we have to make an end run around their forces and be audacious.

Ask yourself this: If this plan of mine ends up allowing the Democrats to gain control of both the Senate and the House, will we really be any worse off than if the GOP Establishment Hacks run both Houses of the Congress?

In fact, with the Quisling Republicans out of the way, will it not be easier for us to mount a real and effective opposition against the Left?

It’s fun to have the debate, but to be honest, I’m just wanting to see candidates who aren’t DFL be elected to statewide office around here.

Sending Al Franken and his diaper back to St. Louis Park would be nice, too.

St. Louis Park?!? The aim is to send his ass back to Hollywood.

That would be nice, but I’m not sure they’ll take him back. No, let him move back into a rambler in the old neighborhood where he can write poisonous screeds no one will read and angrily complain to his wife about how unjust the world has been to him. Maybe Garrison Keillor will finally retire and move in next door.

I voted for anyone but Lugar for two elections until enough other people did the same and now he’s gone.

On voting for Democrats to replace the current GOPe – what difference does it make? If McConnell or Boehner are re-elected, is there ANY possibility they will stand up to Harry Reid or President Obama on anything of importance? Of course not – they will immediately go along to get along with the Democrats and so give them everything they want. Therefore, it doesn’t really matter which democrat we vote for, the one with a D after their name or the one with a R, the end result is the same.

But its great to see the look of shock on their faces when a safe seat is lost. Unexpectedly!
