‘…And Peace Will Guide The Planets…’

21 April 2014 @ 00:11

Over in the Comments section of Protein Wisdom, in a post by Darleen Click, BigBangHunter observes:

– Presently we have entered the age of Aquarius for real, which means flower children, hippies, beatniks, and every other form of social misfit is having their day in the sun.

– But fret not. This too shall pass, and not all that long from now, just as soon as the weight of all the past due bills become too much for the reality challenged community to plaster over with their make believe Utopia and golden butterfly shitting unicorns, all orchestrated by the Progressive brain dead gaggle, headed up by his most excellent Technicolor great coat potentate, Waffle ears, his half black-ass self.

That observation in the first paragraph is dead solid perfect — think about it.  Especially consider the self-told story we’ve had foisted upon us about the ‘life’ of the fictional character known as ‘Barack Hussein Obama’*.  ‘Social Misfit’ fits that character to a ‘T’.  ‘Obama’ has never fit in America Society and he never will because (1) he despises it and (2) he was brought-up in a Communist bubble, where people are deliberately rootless, man-without-a-country types whose loyalties are given only to perverse and abnormal ideas.

As for BBH’s second paragraph: I hope he proves prophetic, because I can envision something like Brave New World coming true.

[‘John The Savage’ speaking (or ‘John The Visigoth’ or ‘John The Outlaw’, if you prefer)] “Why don’t you let them see Othello instead?”

“I’ve told you; it’s old. Besides, they couldn’t understand it.”

Yes, that was true. He remembered how Helmholtz had laughed at Romeo and Juliet. “Well then,” he said, after a pause, “something new that’s like Othello, and that they could understand.”

“That’s what we’ve all been wanting to write,” said Helmholtz, breaking a long silence.

“And it’s what you never will write,” said the Controller. “Because, if it were really like Othello nobody could understand it, however new it might be. And if were new, it couldn’t possibly be like Othello.”

“Why not?”

“Yes, why not?” Helmholtz repeated. He too was forgetting the unpleasant realities of the situation. Green with anxiety and apprehension, only Bernard remembered them; the others ignored him. “Why not?”

“Because our world is not the same as Othello’s world. You can’t make flivvers without steel — and you can’t make tragedies without social instability. The world’s stable now. People are happy; they get what they want, and they never want what they can’t get. They’re well off; they’re safe; they’re never ill; they’re not afraid of death; they’re blissfully ignorant of passion and old age; they’re plagued with no mothers or fathers; they’ve got no wives, or children, or lovers to feel strongly about; they’re so conditioned that they practically can’t help behaving as they ought to behave. And if anything should go wrong, there’s soma. Which you go and chuck out of the window in the name of liberty, Mr. Savage. Liberty!” He laughed. “Expecting Deltas to know what liberty is! And now expecting them to understand Othello! My good boy!”

Brave New World, Chapter Sixteen

Maybe I’m to much of a cynical bastard for my own good.

No, the Gods of the Copybook Headings will return, and the bill will be paid in full with interest due.

There has, of late, been great concern about the future of conservatives (and, less so in my mind, about the future of the Republican party) due to governmental preferences of anticipated immigration demographics. I am firmly convinced that the prognosticated liberal preferences will not – and cannot – be sustained under the crushing weight of fiscal obligations come due..When the citizenry is ordered to sacrifice more of its wages than it retains, when it cannot afford to feed itself because of governmental obligations, when liberty is radically constrained by governmental appropriators, we’ll witness mass conversions to conservatism, The programs we see being instituted now are the harbingers of the death of progressive policies, especially Obamacare, which has been gutted to the point of having all functional funding mechanisms excised. Without that abomination, this country had issues. WITH it and left unaddressed, we face a very, very unpleasant certainty, yet it’s a certainty that will unmask the inherent dishonesty and deception of socialist society.

Although I coudn’t express it as well as you, I feel pretty much the same way. The big problem is the Establishment Republicans, who are not really conservative. So we’ll end up with bigger government anyway, only more slowly. We need many more real conservatives in DC.

It would be nice if they showed up before the apocalypse, though I’m not holding my breath.
