Give ‘Em Enough Rope 2014

19 March 2014 @ 08:20

From Breitbart, Wynton Hall reporting, we learn:

Even as the world condemns Vladimir Putin’s Russian invasion of Ukraine, U.S. public relations firm Ketchum says it will continue its lucrative contract with the Russian government, which has earned the firm over $55 million since 2006.

Thanks, Ketchum!

But it gets better:

“Our work continues to focus on supporting economic development and investment in the country and facilitating the relationship between representatives of the Russian Federation and the Western media,” a Ketchum spokeswoman told The Hill. “We are not advising the Russian Federation on foreign policy, including the current situation in Ukraine.” [BOB: Oh!…that’s nice.]

One of the more noted recent public relations victories Ketchum helped Putin score involved the placement of a widely discussed New York Times op-ed by Putin last September that blasted President Barack Obama over his handling of a possible strike on Syria. Ketchum was also instrumental in helping Putin win Time’s 2007 “Person of the Year” award.

Ketchum is not the only U.S. lobbying firm taking cash from the Russian government….

Let’s throw those last two paragraphs into The Way-Back Machine and see what we get.

The Year is 1938…

“Our work continues to focus on supporting economic development and investment in the country and facilitating the relationship between representatives of the Nazi Government and the Western media,” a Ketchum spokeswoman told The Old Hill. “We are not advising the Nazi Government on foreign policy, including the current situation in Czechoslovakia.” [BOB: Oh!…that’s nice.]

One of the more noted recent public relations victories Ketchum helped Hitler score involved the placement of a widely discussed New York Times op-ed by Hitler last September that blasted President Franklin Delano Roosevelt over his handling of a possible strike on Ethiopia. Ketchum was also instrumental in helping Hitler win Time’s 1938 “Person of the Year” award.

Ketchum is not the only U.S. lobbying firm taking cash from the German government….

I think no further comment from me is necessary at this point, except, perhaps, one word: TREASON.

    It’s not open warfare.

Yet. But if I was the Bureau, I’d be keeping tabs on any outfit that works with the Russian government on anything other than tourism.

Sadly, considering the dark and corrupt times we live in, I don’t think they’ll be allowed to – unless it’s for blackmailing purposes by the Administration.

True, but then I hope there are a few honest men at the lower levels.

These are dark days indeed. This is reflected not just in the news but also in the blogs and comments therein. This applies not just to FreeFor patriot blogs but the more conventional conservative blogs as well. Not sure why but I find that last part comforting.
