When You’ve Lost Albania…

17 November 2013 @ 01:01

…well, Black Caesar, you’re in deep bajgë.

As John E. over at Ace’s joint explains, for a long time now, the Albanian people have been, perhaps, the biggest fans of The United States.  Hell, they even wanted to vote to become our fifty-first state [‘fifty-eighth’ in Ospeak].

But, my, how times have changed.

From JE’s post:

Well, here’s what just happened today [15 Nov]:

Albania rejected on Friday a U.S. request to host the destruction of Syria’s chemical weapons, dealing a blow to a U.S.-Russian accord to eliminate the nerve agents from the country’s protracted civil war.

Negotiations went down to the wire, delaying the scheduled adoption on Friday of a step-by-step plan to get rid of 1,300 metric tons of Syria’s sarin, mustard and other agents.

Albania’s refusal marked an unprecedented break from its traditionally staunch allegiance to NATO ally Washington. It followed a storm of protest in the Adriatic republic, where protesters complained of exploitation.

Weird, huh? I can’t figure out what’s changed.

It takes a real, first-class, Grade-A rrotë to lose the Albanian people.

King Zog must be rolling in his varr [and, if you’ve ever rolled in your own varr, you know how painful that can be].

There’s always Operation CHASE, where you put everything into an old ship and sink it out in the deep ocean.

But that might kill some fish.
