7 Caught Trespassing At Quabbin Reservoir in Mass

15 May 2013 @ 08:42

And guess where they come from…

From WBZ-TV in Boston, we learn [emphasis mine]:

Shortly after midnight Tuesday, seven people were caught trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir. State Police say the five men and two women are from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore, and “cited their education and career interests” for being in the area. The men told police they were chemical engineers and recent college graduates.

State Police say there were no warrants or advisories on any of the individuals and “there was no evidence that the seven were committing any crime beyond the trespassing.”

All seven were allowed to leave and will be summonsed to court for trespassing. The FBI is investigating and routine checks of public water supplies have been increased following the incident.

The seven individuals currently live in Amherst, Cambridge, Sunderland, Northampton and New York City. Police have not released their names because a court date has not been set.

According to Wikipedia, The Quabbin provides water to forty-one cities and towns in Massachusetts, including Boston.

Thank God King Barack The Unready vanquished Al-Qaeda [big whew!] or I’d be worried about this.

I’m sorry but who goes out after midnight to check out sites of interest? I say pack them all up and send them home. If they had done that with Tamerlan when he was first questioned, the Boston marathon bombings may not have happened. That is what is wrong with this country. I am not racist, but if you are in this country and knowingly breaking the law, then you don’t deserve to be here. There are enough issues for this country to deal with of our own and don’t need to take on any other country’s problems. Ship their asses out of here!

    Not surprised.

    Chemical Engineers, eh? How curious.

Hey Salif, how much chemical you figure it will take? I don’t know Muhammad, but if we use Ricin, it wouldn’t take very much, maybe a gallon or so. What say you, Lin Son Heuy?

Could be a Malay citizen of Singapore. They’re the second largest ethnic group in that city state.

Who cares…it was just a bit of joke I was putting on there.

Anyone taking odds on whether they show up for their court date?

I wonder if they just wanted to see if they could get away with it. My husband and I were in Portland, OR a couple of weeks ago; we returned on a red eye from Portland to Detroit on Saturday, May 11. A day or two later, we read in our newspaper that a Saudi was arrested at the Detroit airport on the day we were there. He had a pressure cooker in his luggage and a page missing from his passport. I have to believe that he was testing our security system too.
