In His S-O-T-U, Obama Says F-U

Not directly, of course, but that is an apt summation of his attitude towards we Americans.

Over at Protein Wisdom, Jeff Goldstein has started an oped thread on the SOTU, entitled:

Thoughts On Obama’s Historic SOTU Addess

I prefer my version:

Thoughts On Obama’s Histrionic SOTU Address.

I shall justify this preference by quoting from the following sources:

The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition:

adj.1. Of or relating to actors or acting.
2. Excessively dramatic or emotional; affected.

-The Collins English Dictionary – Complete and Unabridged, 1991-2003:

adj1. excessively dramatic, insincere, or artificial histrionic gestures
2. Now rare dramatic

n1. (plural) melodramatic displays of temperament
2. (Performing Arts / Theatre) Rare (plural, functioning as singular) dramatics

-The Collins Thesaurus of the English Language – Complete and Unabridged 2nd Edition. 2002:

adjective theatrical, affected, dramatic, forced, camp (informal), actorly, artificial, unnatural, melodramatic, actressy

plural noun dramatics, scene, tantrums, performance, temperament, theatricality, staginess

I rest my case, Your Honors.
