‘Sedition’? – What’s That???

08 February 2013 @ 10:44

Jeff Goldstein on Chuck Hagel:

You ready? Because I’m about to become a steroidal Visigoth: given his failures to disclose, coupled with his radicalized stance against free countries (the US, Israel) and in favor of terrorist regimes (Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran), it is reasonable to assume that, far from the fine man two-time Obama voter Republican Colin Powell has made him out to be, Chuck Hagel is potentially compromised — and by countries who have as their stated goal our weakening or outright destruction. Therefore, it is my assertion that a vote to confirm Hagel, under such conditions, is an abdication of Senatorial duties and should result in the removal of that Senator from office.

Unfortunately, we’ve become too sophisticated — and too immersed in the post-modernist turn toward anti-foundationalist relativism — to give claims of sedition much credence these days. Which is fortunate for far too many currently holding elective office, if you ask me.

That this dipsomaniac, this weasel, still is in consideration to be Secretary Of Defense speaks to our degraded state.

NOTE: Seems to me that more of us [especially members of the Congress] need to become Steroidal Visigoths.

This guy is really bad. So I expect him to be confirmed.

The fact that Hagel was an enlisted man does not mean he would not be qualified. John Tower was nominated as SecDef by Bush I and I think would have been a good one. He was still a Chief Petty Officer in the Naval Reserve at the time. Hagel, however, seems to have learned nothing since his service days.

I suspect, however, given Zer0’s, and Anti-American Party’s inclinations, that Hagel is bad enough to be confirmed. After all, what kind of knowledge is required to destroy the military.
