Apparently, he’s either been kidnapped or has wandered off in a daze:

It’s still unclear if House Budget Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan – the Republican Party’s recent vice presidential candidate – had anything to do with the GOP leadership’s conservative purge. Reps. Tim Huelskamp of Kansas and Justin Amash of Michigan were pulled from Ryan’s committee heading into the next Congress. A spokesman for Ryan hasn’t responded to numerous requests for comment on the matter.

If you see Paul, please do not approach him on your own. He may be armed with a dumb bell [nooo!, not John Boehner!].

Caution: He will be very moist from being such a squish.

Observe him from a distance — stay at least one hundred feet from him at all times.

Call a [real] conservative House member immediately or Jimmy Page.

I don’t get the Jimmy Page reference. Is he known to have conservative principles?

Mr. Page is a member of the Conservative Party and Paulie’s favorite band is Led Zeppelin.

I did not know that about Mr. Page. I might have to move Zeppelin up in my personal rankings. So many other artists have become unlistenable (sic) to me just because I’ve heard them spew liberal idiocy in public … Springsteen, Cheryl “one square” Crow, Eddie Vedder …

I sure hate to think Ryan’s been co opted by the old guard… hope not!

Sadly, it looks that way. He tasted political power and, it seems, has drunk that intoxicating brew.

Wither Paul Ryan? Remember when Ryan was a shining star articulating a different view to Obama at the 2/25/10 president’s bipartisan(!) meeting at Blair House to discuss health care legislation? Where did Ryan go after that? Not front and center.
__The Ryan Budget got its spotlight from the CBO in April 2011. Ryan was then and is still the House budget chair. Where did Ryan go after that? Ryan spent Christmas with Bill Bennett in Colorado and said he made a deal regarding the presidential election. Not front and center articulating fiscal reality.
__Ryan said he would remain neutral in the primary but he timed it right and endorsed Romney on Friday, 3/30/12, before the WI vote on Tuesday, 4/3/12, strengthening his good soldier as VP slot. Where did Ryan go after that? Not front and center through the summer going to the people. No Chitlin’ Circuit, Borscht Belt, or Support Your Local Ballroom from Orchestra to Swing turned Rock-N-Roll Circuit. Why, Ryan didn’t even try pitching the alternative to the Obama fiscal cliff/EU Tobin tax recession in the global media junket gateway of London.
__Ryan became Mitt’s choice for VP on 8/11/12, and they called him part of America’s Comeback Team. The campaign confidence/advance men spread out among the rubes and called them swing states to set up their colorful signs — the GOP-E alternative to the “Putting America Back to Work, Funded by The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act” signs put up along the highways and byways by public union members, the Obama administration’s Pinkerton stasi, to the tune of $20 million creating 17 jobs per — for the people to come to them. Where did Ryan go after that? Not front and center pushing back (Resist we much!) against Obama stumping his budget as a form of “social Darwinism” pitting the poor against the wealthy.
__Come election day 11/6/12, Ryan spent +$5 million (to his opponents +$2 million) to be returned to Congress; lose his hometown of Janesville for the first time, twice: by 10 points for Congress and by 25 points for VP; narrowly win his 1st Congressional District for the Romney-Ryan ticket (“Romney did 5 points better in Ryan’s district than he did in Wisconsin as a whole. Four years ago, Republican John McCain did 5 points better in the district than he did in Wisconsin as a whole.”); and the GOP ticket lost the battleground state of Wisconsin by 7 points. Where has Ryan been since the GOP-E’s “The Winter Dance Party Tour, the day the music died” 2.0 for liberty? Not front and center till he surfaced on 12/4/12 for a political speech faceoff/Latino buzz optics with Marco Rubio at the Jack Kemp Foundation/Award/Leadership/ceremony/chicken dinner/donation envelope under the pate televised televangelism. Camera ready. (Buddy Holly married Maria Elena Santiago and Ritchie Valens’ “Donna” was his girlfriend Donna Ludwig. Back when integration was possible without our current prime saturation invasion of illegals for Balkanisation.)
__You would think Ryan watching Romney bleed out from the inside would give him pause to the masterminds behind the curtain pulling his strings. Shooting stars sure do fade out fast.
