Of Savagery And Impotence…

13 September 2012 @ 14:49

While the situation in the Middle East really is not any worse today [protests have broken out in other countries, but, as of the writing of this post, no violence or murder has been reported], what has continued to disintegrate is the reputation of The United States Of America.

By their actions, the Administration has shown themselves to be grossly and utterly incompetent. These so-called Enlightened Elites can’t even put on a good sham show. The biggest dunce is none other than King Barack The Unready [followed closely by Hillary 'Dimwit' Rodham, the US Simpleton Of State].

A few examples of our Fearless Leader in action…

-From Foreign Policy, Josh Rogin reporting, we learn [tip of the fedora to the Drudge Report]:

President Barack Obama didn’t intend to signal any change in the U.S.-Egypt relationship last night when he said Egypt is not an "ally," the White House told The Cable today.

In an interview with Telemundo Wednesday night, Obama said that the U.S. relationship with the new Egyptian government was a "work in progress," and emphasized that the United States is counting on the government of Egypt to better protect the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, which was attacked by protesters on Sept. 11.

"I don’t think that we would consider them an ally, but we don’t consider them an enemy," Obama said. "They’re a new government that is trying to find its way. They were democratically elected. I think that we are going to have to see how they respond to this incident."

That comment had Egypt watchers scratching their heads, especially since technically, Egypt was designated as a Major Non-NATO Ally in 1989 when Congress first passed the law creating that status, which gives them special privileges in cooperating with the United States, especially in the security and technology areanas.

White House spokesman Tommy Vietor told The Cable Thursday that the administration is not signaling a change in that status.

"I think folks are reading way too much into this," Vietor said. "‘Ally’ is a legal term of art. We don’t have a mutual defense treaty with Egypt like we do with our NATO allies. But as the president has said, Egypt is longstanding and close partner of the United States, and we have built on that foundation by supporting Egypt’s transition to democracy and working with the new government."

So proclaimeth the Obama Administration: ‘Ally’ is a legal term of art!’…yeah and Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

-There’s also this from the same report:

Vietor referred to Obama’s Wednesday phone call with Mohamed Morsy, during which Obama pressed the Egyptian president to ensure the safety and protection of U.S. personnel and facilities in Egypt. Morsy agreed to do so, according to a White House statement on the phone call.

So the President Of The United States Of America is begging the President of Egypt, who happens to be a terrorist, to protect Americans. No, Little Barry, you don’t ‘press’ Morsy to pretty-please do anything – you tell him he’d better or you’ll have some Navy Seals put rocket up his Mohammedin arse. In fact, you tell this tinpot thug that the Marines are coming and they’d better be welcomed with open arms.

-From the DarcPrynce, we learn that King Barack The Unready called the ‘President’ of Libya to thank him for his support.

-From Toby Harnden, over at The London Daily Mail, we learn:

President Barack Obama compared his campaign volunteers to the American officials killed in Libya, saying that ‘like them, you guys are Americans who sense that we can do better than we’re doing’.

Obama’s remarks came during a meeting with volunteer leaders in Las Vegas. ‘And obviously [our] hearts are broken for the families but I wanted to encourage those folks at the State Department. that they were making a difference, he said, according to a pool report.

‘The sacrifices that our troops and our diplomats make are obviously very different from the challenges that we face here domestically but like them, you guys are Americans who sense that we can do better than we’re doing….I’m just really proud of you.’

Really?!? First of all, what was he doing at a fundraiser when the situation in the Middle East was still hot? Second, I had no idea just how much danger campaign volunteers face! I had no clue that, at any time, they were subject to being dragged out on to the streets, tortured, sodomized, and murdered! Yowsa.

In related news…

Dan Riehl reports that Ambassador Stevens may have been sodomized before he was murdered.

Stacy McCain offers his thoughts on this report and other matters here.

In another posting Stacy exposes the MSM’s despicable behavior since these stories broke. A highlight:

These incidents, occurring as they did in two nations where Obama had sided with radical insurgents who overthrew their governments in the “Arab Spring” uprisings, clearly raised questions about the wisdom of the administration’s policy. But for pro-Obama reporters, the attacks had to be interpreted within the “clear advantage” narrative, and so whatever Mitt Romney said or did, the Republican challenger’s response had to be portrayed as insufficient, inadequate or otherwise wrong.

As you know, the Left is accusing Team Romney of trying to score political points off the horrible events in the Middle East when it is, in fact, they who are doing exactly that themselves.

I’m no fan of Willard Mitt Romney, but his remarks on the situation have, as Mark Levin pointed out on his radio show, been Presidential [Mr. Levin thinks they have been 'Reaganesque'; while I won't go that far, I will say he sounded like a President should].

-From Adam Kredo, over at The Washington Free Beacon, we learn [tip of the fedora to Memeorandum]:

U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo.

Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson “did not permit U.S. Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple reports on U.S. Marine Corps blogs spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any U.S. military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.”

U.S. officials have yet to confirm or comment on the reports. Time magazine’s Battleland blog reported Thursday “Senior U.S. officials late Wednesday declined to discuss in detail the security at either Cairo or Benghazi, so answers may be slow in coming.”

If true, the reports indicate that Patterson shirked her obligation to protect U.S. interests, Nightwatch states.

“She did not defend U.S. sovereign territory and betrayed her oath of office,” the report states. “She neutered the Marines posted to defend the embassy, trusting the Egyptians over the Marines.”

Marc Toner, the State Department’s deputy spokesperson, did not respond to a request for comment from the Free Beacon. White House National Security Council spokesperson Tommy Vietor also did not respond to a request for comment.

TWFB will be updating this report as more facts on the story come in.

How come I’m not surprised at all.

-From John Tabin, we learn that the idiot who issued the infamous Tweet from the US Embassy in Cairo is Senior Public Affairs Officer Larry Schwartz. He has the details here, including who else should be held responsible and fired.

-Over at The Pirate’s Cove, William Teach offers up some excellent analysis and aggregation.

-I may update this post later.

You know, there’s something to be said for a tactical nuke being used to make the area around the Libyan Presidential palace into a glass topped parking lot.

Or as we used to say back in the day…Nuke ’em ’til they glow in the dark.

The salutatory effect of turning the surface or parts thereof of errant nations into molten lava is radically under appreciated.

Indeed. Just as long as we don’t ruin any ancient artifacts.

Sometimes I hate being right…just hate it.

When this Suit Looking For An Emperor was elected, I had visions…and by the time he’d been occupying the White House for 6 months, I was even more frightened. As each September 11 comes along, I am anxious…I thought this would happen LAST year…so I’ve been pretty apprehensive for quite some time…

    I hate being right.
