Rule 5 News Special Report: Women’s Water Polo Anyone? [Updated]

30 July 2012 @ 17:53

All of the attention lavished on the American Women’s Olympic Volleyball Team means that the lovely gals who are members of the USA Women’s Olympic Water Polo Team have not been getting the attention they deserve.

Rule 5 News will do it’s part to make-up for the oversight…

Inspired by a Tweet from Stacy McCain, the genius inventor of Rule 5.

UPDATE at 1923: Stacy McCain profiles one of the team members not featured in the first photo:
Melissa Seidemann.

UPDATE on 06AUG2012 at 2013:

Dana Pico points out in the Comment Section:

How ’bout that? ESPM Magazine’s The Body Issue somehow managed to leave out the one water polo team member who is 6 feet tall and 229 pounds.

She did a post on this issue here that is well-worth the read because she’s quite right [please see the comment I left there, as well].

Too bad Water Polo here in the US is not very popular on a professional level. I’d definitely pay to see many of the hottest chicks in all of sports.

At least with these, there’s no reason not to show them in swim gear.

Kudo to ESPN for giving these girls the long awaited exposure they so deserve. What a great marketing strategy as well!

Beautiful bodies, yes, but the ESPN exploitation is sleazy.

Hate to be a wet blanket, but you expect that of porn stars or Playmates, not Olympic athletes.

I agree formwiz, but the truth of the matter is that porn stars, playmates and those gorgeous beauties above us all have the same thing in common. They were all beautiful women perhaps before they partook of their profession, and I strongly believe ESPN and the ladies are only trying to reminding us of that!

Quite frankly, I appreciate them more as being very beautiful women than them being Olympic athletes. I’m quite sure most other men will agree.

Up to the minute sports news and very gorgeous, athletic women are a profound marketing strategy which helps to makes ESPN very man friendly. Increase those ratings and watch the multitudes of corporate sponsors come running with those gigantic checkbooks.

The “perfect” female anatomy, weather they are in the form of Playboy Bunnies or Olympic Athletes has been, and will always remain the greatest marketing tool ever known to man!!!!

When I saw the words ‘Women’s Water Polo Team’ and ‘Read more’, I should have known better than to open the link at work. But like Basil Fawlty mentioning the war, I think I got away with it.

      Was not aware of that.

Still have to say some of these young women will have cause to regret doing it some day.

Shame on ESPN for taking advantage of them.

formwiz- female, right. only a female would post something so down-right-silly

    @ formwiz,

I don’t think ESPN took advantage of them at all. Every one of those ladies had the right to say NO, and I don’t believe any of them pictured above are under the age of 18!

Most women today know that having a pretty face and beautiful body makes them highly marketable, both socially and economically. This is why dieting, make-up, fingernails, hair care, fitness, and feminine hygiene products are ALL multi-billion dollar industries today. All of which are major contributing factors to many of our gorgeous Madonnas world-wide.

Hell…..It’s always fun for me to walk down the street with or behind a really beautiful woman, for no reason other than to see how the rest of the world reacts to them.

I believe the photo above will open more doors for those ladies, rather than close them.

LOL- I guarantee you, Hugh Hefner, Vogue, Elite, Cosmopolitan, Bazzar, Glamour, and Runway Live are all licking their chops right about now!!!!

Keep those beauties coming Bobby B.

    Way to go ESPN……..WHOOOOOHHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

And I guarantee you that those pics will come back to haunt some of them.

      It’s happened before.

And, while they may get an endorsement worth a couple hundred thou, who will remember them in a couple of years?

And, just because they were over 18 doesn’t mean they weren’t victimized. Again, we’ll hear stories from some of these young women regretting this. It’s happened before and it will happen again.

PS I like looking at a beautiful woman as much as anyone, but I also don’t like to see people had, either.

    LOL- OK formwiz,

I guess you are one of those types who think that all women are stupid and they don’t know any better!

I guarantee you that for every one instance you come up with were a beautiful woman took her clothes off for the cameras and failed, I can give you a million instances where other women who took their clothes off for the cameras went on to become very successful movie stars, fashion models, pageant queens, music video vixens, professional cheerleaders and or ventured down other roads to success. For example: They are now married to a famous rocker, athlete, entertainer or better yet, a billionaire.

Again, any woman out there who’s 18 and over, who has a pretty face and who possesses very dangerous curves should have NO problem living very comfortable, unless she’s on drugs, an alcoholic or just plain retarded.

Yes, It is said that “BEAUTY” is only skin deep, but there’s no doubt in any man’s mind today that “UGLY” cuts straight to the bone!
