Get Ready For Mormon Mania

24 July 2012 @ 10:57

So far, the Obama Campaign and their toadies in the media have failed in their efforts to make any of their defamations against Willard M. Romney effect the latter’s standing, so, as Stacy McCain points out in a well-done piece of analysis, it must time to go after Mr. Romney for his membership in the Church Of Latter Day Saints:

…The closer Mitt came to clinching the GOP nomination, the less secretive the Democrat-Media Complex became about their belief that Romney’s religion would be a general-election vulnerability. As I predicted in March, however, playing the Mormon card would be a last-ditch measure, to which the media and the Obama campaign (but I repeat myself) would resort only after the class-warfare argument failed. What I didn’t expect in March was that the class-warfare argument would fail as early as it apparently has, and that Democrats would arrive at their last ditch by late July.

There’s a reason why the Left is relentless in their insistence that Mr. Romney releases his tax returns: David Axelrod and others know what’s in those returns [you know it's true — this crew has been out-Nixoning Nixon for four years], and they want the public to know that the GOP candidate has given tens of millions to the LDS because, as Stacy points out:

…Getting that Very Large Number into the public domain is what this media-generated controversy is really all about. Whatever else is in Romney’s IRS file is incidental to Axelrod’s strategic purpose of using the tax forms to make Mitt’s Mormonism a Legitimate News Story, to justify all those “in-depth reports” and “investigative series” about the LDS church.

The media will have their justification [at least in their own maddened minds] to probe deeply into Mormonism.

Couple the amount the Returns will show that he has given* to his church with the — you have to admit — unusual, shall we say, beliefs and practices of the Mormons you know those future reports will intensely highlight, you can see clearly that Axelrod and company are planning on portraying Mr. Romney as ‘weird’ and ‘out of the American Mainstream’.

This is particularly interesting because, in fact, it is Obama and his people that are those things — they are unAmerican in all they believe and do. How typically Leftist.

Do take the time to click here and read Stacy’s full and spot-on analysis.

The word ‘mania‘ is defined by the OED as:

n. mental illness marked by periods of great excitement, euphoria, delusions, and overactivity.
-an excessive enthusiasm or desire; an obsession.

What we shall be witnessing between now and 06 November are the euphoria, delusions, overactivity, and obsessions of a group in manic panic mode.

Let us hope Willard will keep his cool and not stumble and fumble this opportunity to show the Obama Campaign and their toadies for the ridiculous fools they are.
*BTW: Isn’t tithing a Protestant tradition, long considered normal and acceptable? Not after the Left gets through with distorting it.

“…they want the public to know that the GOP candidate has given tens of millions to the LDS “

I give tens of tens. it’s called ‘tithing’ but the commies distort that law of faith under the guise of ‘entitlement’. Their god is their government. Mine is mightier.
It’s just the Left trying to whip up secular America into a frothing frenzy. As for Mormon mania? Sock it to me baby!

Salient information … keep up the good work Bob. We may not see eye to eye but I highly appreciate your work.

The problem for the Obama camp is that their candidate totally “out weirds” anything that can be pinned on Mittens. Let us count the ways…….

While Mitt is tithing the left if teething.

This is another tactic that is going to backfire…badly.

One can only hope, Matt, but what if the election turns out to be very close [as in 2000 and because of voter fraud] and enough of the Mushy Middle is spooked by the ‘Mormon Meme’ to vote for the Bolshevik?

Well, it seemed as if enough people over at TOM got their Christian hackles up over Mormons not being “real Christians” (which is a bullshit stance IMNSHO) so what do you think the rest of America is going to do? Hopefully people can put aside their knee-jerk reactions and myopic opinions long enough to vote for someone who will put the economy and America first yet I don’t have much faith in the current political theater nor in my fellow voters.

I’ve know some good and not so good Mormons. On the whole, they’ve got a similar spread as far as sinners and saints as the rest of us. And quite possibly better than academics and their hangers-on.

Like you said, that assessment could go for just about anybody worth their salt.
