#BrettKimberlin D+2: All In The Kimberlin Family [UPDATE: Another SWATting]

27 May 2012 @ 19:11

-Stacy McCain has filed another investigative report that provides us with some more background on who exactly is funding Brett Kimberlain as his partners in Leftist thuggery.  Do take the time to click here and read the whole report, but here is a highlight:

Convicted felon Brett Kimberlin is the nephew of a wealthy Maryland woman who has contributed to a foundation that helped fund a 501(c)3 organization of which Kimberlin is the director. Kimberlin’s activities have recently attracted widespread attention because of his attempts to intimidate and harass bloggers who wrote about his criminal history.

Harriet Crosby, 66, reportedly an heiress to the General Mills fortune, was one of the original donors to the Threshold Foundation, which contributed $20,000 to Kimberlin’s Justice Through Music Project in 2008, according to database research I reported May 19.

Also, check out this new bit of info about convicted domestic terrorist Brett Kimberlin.

Patterico has a report on his dealings with Wikipedia over the issue of why Brett Kimberlin’s entry was taken down.  Let’s put it this way: they certainly don’t do anything to make you want to trust them as a source for political information.  In fact, it would seem that they confirm that they are into Leftist disinformation.

Aaron Walker looks at convicted domestic terrorist Brett Kimberlin’s ‘career’ as a member of the band Op-Critical.  Among the revelations, he offers some pretty convincing evidence that in one video they mocked Carl DeLong, the man who was severely injured by one of Kimberlin’s bombs and who later took his own life.

-A final word from Stacy:

The National Bloggers Club has created to help call attention to the case and, as the non-profit goup’s president Ali Akbar says, to enable “supporters to make financial donations to a relief fund as a show of support.”

UPDATE at 2307…

It looks like Erick Erickson got SWATted:

Tonight, my family was sitting around the kitchen table eating dinner when sheriffs deputies pulled up in the driveway.

Someone called 911 from my address claiming there had been an accidental shooting.

You can read the rest by clicking here.

As Stacy McCain commented:

It’s no secret that I sharply criticized Erickson during the 2012 presidential primary campaign, but last week he mentioned me in writing about the Kimberlin case, which was a gracious gesture. This situation is more important than individual personalities.

I’ve called for a boycott of Erickson because of his political actions, but Stacy is right; that’s merely a difference of opinion.  This is a criminal act against a man and his family.

From Patterico:

UPDATE x2: I just got off the phone with Erickson. He says the caller reported an “accidental shooting” and that it was therefore less traumatic than my experience. However, he said, his kids were outside as the police showed up with lights flashing — and some of the cops were keeping their hands on their guns even as his children were running around.

Instapundit remarks:

…Really, if the goal is to keep people from writing about Brett Kimberlin, this doesn’t seem like the way to do it. It was smart of Erickson to call his local Sheriff ahead of time. I did the same thing.

Perhaps some of us should do the same thing.

The Battle Rages On…

UPDATE at 2359…

Ace is worth quoting in full:

Is anyone in the media going to cover this, or are they all going to continue giving the leftwing the Green Light for terrorizing people?

Even though Erick Erickson is a CNN contributor, I think there’s a good chance they won’t cover the story. If they do, you can bet your bottom dollar it will be a “balanced” piece including lots of supposed harassments of liberals.

They’ll reach back ten years for “balance.”

There are only two media storylines: Conservatives are doing bad things, and “a broken system permits both sides to do bad things.”

There is never the third type of story: Leftists are doing bad things.

Incidentally, I’m okay, nothing to report.

-From an Erick Erickson Tweet [tip of the fedora to Darleen Click]:

More importantly, I have an unlisted phone number someone was able to track it down.

-More Updates possible.

How do they fool the GPS locator? I assume that there has to be some sort of “hacking” involved to fool the 911 system. There must be some way for law enforcement to back track this if they are willing to put forth the effort.

Welp, they’ve got another recording of a criminal’s voice, now, don’t they? I can’t help but hope that the Big Silver Lining to all this continued harassment is: an evidence trail that leades to CAPTURE.

A great follow-up post, thx for keeping me updated.

      My pleasure, Lin.

What a past few days. I was just telling Mrs. B. that I’m coming out of this long weekend more exhausted than when I went into it. My goal at the start of the long weekend was to go like mad on the Kimberlin story until I did the day after post on Saturday and then, starting that night, take it easy mentally the rest of the weekend, but that didn’t happen. ‘Best laid plans….’ and all that jazz.

Never pay for an unlisted number. Create a fake name for your home phone and preferably use a hard to pronounce name. There are way too many phone company personnel that will sell your number for a twenty and likely even less. You may have to purchase a one year performance bond to satisfy a phone company that doesn’t have a credit reference but it is a cheap and easy solution to a public name or unlisted number.
