D-Minus-1: Preparing For Everybody Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day [Updated Below]

24 May 2012 @ 14:48

Tomorrow is Everybody Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day where many of us will take part in a blogburst to help spread the word about Democrat activist and convicted domestic terrorist bomber Brett Kimberlin and his Leftist associates.

-Lee Stranahan, who thought up this great idea, put together a background video on Kimberlin that can be found here. He explains:

This is no war of words; Kimberlin is a serial litigator who has filed over 100 lawsuits by his own account and he takes people to court, claiming they are harassing him. He calls their employers. I stand with all these people, some of whom are my friends. I’m launching a new effort on my own that I hope will help. The only effective way I to fight Brett Kimberlin is for as many people to research and write about him as possible.

So I’m declaring this Friday, May 25th as Everybody Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day.

Here’s what you do to take part…

  1. Research Brett Kimberlin on your own. Don’t trust secondary sources; look for the orginal articles articles published about him, too.
  2. On Friday, May 25th — write an honest, factually accurate post about what you learned and what your OPINION is. Brett may try and sue you, so be accurate, factual and separate fact from opinion.
  3. The post doesn’t have to be long — ANYTHING helps.
  4. After you post, Tweet, share, whatever — get the post out there.

This foolishness has gone on long enough

In another posting, Mr. Stranahan offers some sources on the Internet that can be useful for research [I don’t think he will mind if I quote it in full]:

In order to help you prep for Everyone Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day, I wanted to point out two treasure troves for research on Brett Coleman Kimberlin. Research can be tricky because either Kimberlin or his allies are intent on information not coming out. For example, despite the numerous newspaper, magazine articles and even a book written about him there’s no Wikipedia page for Brett Kimberlin. The entire page was pulled down for a very suspect reason.

One is the Indy Star articles like this one — that show original reporting of what happened in Indiana and elsewhere, starting in 1978.

Another source of amazing data is the Google Scholar page – not regular Google, but Google Scholar and focus on Legal Documents. Search for Brett Kimberlin and you’ll find numerous (but not nearly all) legal cases and judgments he’s been involved in.

Happy researching!

The one mention that can still be found on Wikipedia is in the entry entitled the Streisand Effect:

In May 2012, convicted domestic terrorist Brett Kimberlin (aka The Speedway Bomber) reportedly tried to suppress articles about his violent past, his current political activities, and his leadership of a non-profit company called Justice Through Music. Attorney Aaron Walker (aka “Aaron Worthing”) wrote a lengthy expose of Kimberlin on May 17, 2012.[35] Other blogs picked up the story, including “The Other McCain” by journalist Robert Stacy McCain. McCain reported that Kimberlin’s response forced him to leave his Maryland home due to “the resulting security concern”.[36] A subsequent avalanche of postings about Kimberlin resulted in a Day by Day (webcomic) cartoon mentioning McCain, a mention by the influential blog Instapundit, and a suggestion that May 25, 2012, be “Everybody Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day.” [37]

I have saved the whole of this Wikipedia entry is case the part above is taken down. I have it available on PDF and can e-mail it to anyone who would like a copy.

-While much of our focus has been on Democratic operative and convicted domestic terrorist Brett Kimberlin, we must not forget the Leftist associates that he has worked with, such as Ron Brynaert. Aaron Walker gives us a good idea of what kind of a human being this cretin is in a posting here.

[Part of second Update] Dan Collins is being maligned by Byrnaert and Dano gives us the details here.

-Another associate is Leftist blogger Brad Friedman. Mr. Stranahan has published a posting on this fellow here with links. More links: Friedman’s BradBlog and his personal website.

-Jeff Goldstein has published some very important information on Democratic Party operative Neal Rauhauser who is involved intimately with both Kimberlin and Friedman, including a strategy post he published then took down, but that Jeff saved. Both posts are must-reads.

I agree wholeheartedly with Jeff that the appropriate term for all of the Leftists involved is Fifth Columnists.

-If you don’t have a blog, but you have a Facebook or Twitter account, you can help get the word out by linking to the many bloggers who will be publishing posts. Also, you can help increase the pressure on those conservative New Media outlets that have yet to cover this story, such as [surprisingly] Breitbart. By the way, here again are some Twitter addresses for some of the folks over there:

If you fear that one of these Leftist thugs might come after you and that is why you are not planning to help with this effort, may I suggest you perform whatever research you can on Brett Kimerlin, Neal Rauhauser, Ron Brynaert, Brad Friedman, et. al. or any of the foundations that funded Kimberlin’s Justice Through Music Project, such as…

Fred Gellert Family Foundation:

Nathan Cummings Foundation:

Threshold Foundation:
2008 Grants:

HKH Foundation:

…and then turn over your findings over to a blogger you trust to keep your identity secret.

-The organization Brad Friedman and convicted domestic terrorist Brett Kimberlin founded, Velvet Revolution, may be found here. And here is the VR page that lists their affiliate organizations.

-For a damn fine background of this whole story, I highly recommend the one put together by Zilla. Please read it and pass it around.

-Lee Stranahan reminds us of just what we’re dealing with here [worth quoting in full]:

In political blogging, we often toss around highly charged words with great abandon. We say politicians we don’t like are scary and crazy and dangerous.

Brett Kimberlin is actually dangerous.

Full stop. No metaphor. No exaggeration. Brett Kimberlin is dangerous. As in — he blew up bombs and police suspected he did it to cover up a murder. People in Indiana tell me that witnesses disappeared during the trial. Worse, Kimberlin has shown no remorse for the bombings and went to great lengths to make the lives of his victims miserable.

Please, do not lose sight of this. This isn’t a time for loose rhetoric. This is real. It’s real and it’s serious in a way that many ‘political stories’ frankly are not. In that sense, this story is way beyond politics.

I’ve said it here many times, but it’s worth repeating again: the Left has rejected Morality and, therefore, they are not bound by any code of behavior or honor in the pursuit of their ends. They are free to do anything, use any means, to achieve their goals.

I will most definitely be updating this post later [apologies to Rule 5 fans].

UPDATE at 1743…

-Stacy McCain has published a post updating us on some of the latest news in this story, along with some more background infomation.  A highlight:

Both Patrick Frey and Aaron Worthing had expressed suspicion that Kimberlin is “Breitbart Unmasked,” a site no honest person should ever link, but which has proven to be a sturdy rope with which Kimberlin has now hanged himself. Why? Because, you see, there were some elements in my small slice of this story that I have never disclosed online — key facts that only lying felon Brett Kimberlin could have known — which appeared in the false “Breitbart Unmasked” attack on me.

Given that “Breitbart Unmasked” has in recent months been used to publish smear after smear against various of Kimberlin’s enemies, this attack on me therefore provides crucial evidence indicating that, while Kimberlin claimed these law-abiding citizens were “harassing” or “stalking” him, quite the reverse is true.

One of the key tactics in winning this battle: rattling the enemy so that he makes mistakes.

-The question still remains: Where are the Big Guns of the conservative movement?

Over at The Damn Dirty RINO, Walt comments:

Perhaps I’m jumping the gun with this post and all of these outlets are planning in participating in Everybody Blog about Brett Kimberlin Day tomorrow. But, I’m at a complete loss as to how on earth even McCain’s mainstream conservative publisher, The American Spectator, could remain utterly mum on this story. I’ve been scanning the respective blogs hosted by these outlets since this story broke open when McCain was forced to hit the bricks with his family in the interest of their safety, and to date the only mention I’ve seen has been the aforementioned Geraghty post.

Maybe my scans have been a bit too cursory and I’ve just missed all the howls of outrage. If so, I hope readers will send me the links to them so I can post them here at The Damn Dirty RINO. But, if I’m right and they’re simply looking the other way while this legal extortion racket against the online conservative movement plays out in broad daylight, there’s something deeply wrong with the institutions that purport to be our vanguard.

Sadly, you’re right. I’ve been on this story since last Thursday Evening and very few of the heavy hitters have joined the fight. In fact, one of the reasons my posts on other subjects have been so few and far between since last week is because I have spent a good amount of time checking their sites out constantly. If they don’t show up to the battlefield tomorrow then we should treat this as a very important lesson learned. As Matt, over at the Conservative Hideout, writes:

As I mentioned the other day, if we allow our friends to be picked off one by one, we will all be picked off. It is imperative that we stand together, and face this together as a united front….

This is essential in this kind of warfare.

Expect another Update.

UPDATE at 1945…

-Pete, DaTechGuy, is angry at the lack of coverage:

Run that through your head MSM. This is an American JOURNALIST forced into hiding IN AMERICA for covering a story and you don’t find that newsworthy?

I’d like to say I’m surprised at this but remembering Molly Norris (who is STILL in hiding) but the MSM’s silence doesn’t surprise me.

I’m much more surprised at the silence of other conservative bloggers but most of all

Does anyone doubt that Andrew would be screaming at the top of his lungs pushing this if he were alive?

Yeah there are a lot of other issues to write about, yeah the election IS the issue this year, but who would have thought that the site that bears Andrew’s name would be the least worthy of the words “Breitbart is here” upon them?

Mike Hendrix weighs-in over at Cold Fury:

This is how the fascist Left operates, folks. They don’t debate; they shut debate down, using any means they can–fair or foul, legal or illegal, peaceful or violent. Nothing matters to them but crushing their opposition. It’s one reason I’m so adamant about never responding to them with the GOPs patented supine, we’re-better-than-that passivity or other weak-sister responses. These goons must be confronted, and with all the force we can muster. They bring a knife, we bring a gun…yes, literally, if necessary. As for my admittedly sarcastic title, Michelle [Malkin] misses on that one:

Institutional inertia, incompetence, and apathy among law enforcement officials on both coasts have exacerbated the victims’ suffering. It has moved far beyond a partisan or political story to a bottomless, Kafka-esque morass. And, via investigative journalist Matthew Vadum, it certainly doesn’t help that “progressive,” left-wing foundations that have funded Kimberlin continue to look the other way.

These Progressivist weevils aren’t looking the other way; they support vermin like Kimberlin one hundred percent, and only pretend to be “shocked” when they absolutely must, to protect their own credibility. There is no reason to assume good intentions or integrity on their part; they don’t have ‘em. If they did, they wouldn’t be funneling money to creeps like Kimberlin. Notorious vote-fraudsters ACORN wouldn’t still exist under a different name. They wouldn’t chortle with delight among themselves whenever SEIU thugs bust heads, or take busloads of their aggressive, violent fellows to the homes of law-abiding people to threaten, intimidate, and harass them. They wouldn’t speak openly of what a wonderful thing Occupy Wall Street is.

All these agglomerations of anti-American rioters and revolutionaries would cease to exist were it not for the tacit and overt support of supposedly “mainstream” “liberals”; all of them would go begging for the funding and moral support they require to thrive in the midst of the society they leech off of and which they wish to destroy….

Dead solid perfect.

Throughout it’s history, the Left has always relied on it’s goons to carry out the dirty and violent work it considers necessary.  Whether it be the ignorant mobs in the streets of Russian cities, the filthy rabble of Paris, or the muscle of the public sector unions in The United States, the Left has always readily employed such dregs to do their bidding, al the while seeking to keep their soft hands clean.

We have an advantage over them in that the masterminds, as Mark Levin calls them, use modern technology to communicate with their thugs, and, thus, we can often find the links between them.  Also, since the Left is now doing a lot of it’s vile work through the Internet, they have had to hire effete geeks like Rauhauser, Brynaert, and Friedman who are easier to rattle because they are such wimps.

Jimmy Bise is optimistic that our efforts in this matter will bear delicious fruit:

I suspect that the torrent of posts about him over the past couple of days will become a raging flood that will lift him to heights of notoriety that he never in his life ever wanted. I can’t say that for sure, but I do suspect it. After all, we must remember what happened when the blogosphere converged on one little tweet by Anthony Weiner? Weiner didn’t threaten anyone’s family nor their livelihood and look what happened to him. How much worse might it be for someone who did, once the focused of the blogosphere drew the attention of an MSM outlet or two?

From your keyboard, Jimmie, to God’s Inbox.

-I’ve mentioned ‘The Big Guns’ of The Ether, but the Real Big Guns are with us all.  From Laughing Wolf, speaking for Team Blackfive:

Team Blackfive stands in solidarity with them, and is glad to join the blogburst to shine some light where it is clearly needed. Free speech is never truly free — it is only free because good people stand up no matter the threat to make it so. Team Blackfive stands, do you?

-Sister Toldjah, who has done such a magnificent job taking on the #Occupy crowd and their Fellow Travellers on Twitter, comments:

I know many of you don’t blog, but don’t worry – it really doesn’t have to be a post at all: Tweet about him, write about him on Facebook, post in comment threads and on message boards. I’m using the hashtag #BrettKimberlin at Twitter because no one has indicated otherwise about any other hashtag. Why do we need to do this? Because not only do we need to support our fellow conservatives, but it is also IMPERATIVE that we show Kimberlin via our words that we will NOT be intimidated by his bull sh*t attempts to squelch free speech.

Dan Riehl issues a call to rally ’round the flag:

Enough is enough – and Kimberlin is long past too much to tolerate, or turn away from in ignorance. It’s well beyond time we draw a line in the sand when it comes to Brett Kimberlin. And a large number of bloggers, whether each is seen as significant, or not, is precisely the way to do it.

I’m in. If you blog, Tweet, use Facebook, or social media of any type to support conservative and Republican politics, or just free speech, reasonable political argument and liberty, you need to be in on it, too. If you support those things, Brett Kimberlin stands against everything you believe in both in theory and practice. And it’s time for his twisted combination of scam and petty self-indulgent but genuine form of political terrorism to come to an end.

-Instapundit did a Google Search on ‘Brett Kimberlin’ and got a surprising and welcome result.

-William Jacobson reports on another case of Lawfare being used against a blogger, this time in Georgia.

Melissa Clouthier empathizes with what Stacy, Mr. Walker, and the others are going through [tip of the fedora to Donald Douglas]:

This May, my seven year anniversary blogging rolled by. In that time, my site has experienced Denial of Service attacks, I’ve received death threats, had a real-life stalker, my site had more DOS attacks and hacking attempts, I was called a racist on the front page of the Huffington Post the day after Obama was elected, people have photoshopped me in unflattering ways, I’ve been called every vile name in the book, and another Huffington Post writer excavated my personal and professional life–looking for dirt, evidently–and trying to intimidate me on Twitter.

Most of this, I have never written about and even now, I’m keeping it general lest I give some stupid leftist the attention he or she wants.

She’s joining the fight — where are the Bill Kristols and the Jonah Goldbergs?

-I’ve got many more people who I want to link up, but I’ll wait and put them in my Everybody Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day post tomorrow.  Gator Doug has up a fine aggregation here, if you ant more — he’s been all over this, doing yeoman’s work.  I hope the aggregation above gave you an idea of what’s going on regarding this story and how the non-bigwigs in The Rightosphere are stepping up to the plate and risking attack while The Conservative Beautiful People refuse to get involved.

Let me leave you with a little humor from Political Clown Parade and Smitty.

Be tough to bug my employer, since that’s me – but my one client would undoubtedly dislike me participating here – he’s a Liberal defense attorney. So how ’bout we don’t tell him? It’s one reason I don’t post things from my blog life on my FB page.

I’ve never done this before, so please advise…I’m thinking Name, Birthdate, something dealing with conviction, then short paragraph of my opinion.

I have no following, I barely have a handful of regular readers – what Richard at Three Beers Later refers to as ‘readership in the low severals’ – but I’m willing to play a small part anyway.

Thanks for the plug Bob. And especially thanks for mentioning the need for a united front. As Benjamin Franklin suggested, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”
