The Latest On The Brett Kimberlin Story

23 May 2012 @ 14:51

NO LONGER WAITING FOR GODOT?

-Donald Douglas has this opinion of how the story is going:

This story is gaining Olympic-level velocity —— wow!

-I, as you’ve come to expect, am a bit more cynical and don’t see it as having reached that speed yet, but it certainly is moving faster through The Ether.

Michelle Malkin’s entry on to the battlefield this morning is a big morale booster and brings needed heavy guns to the fight. She’s infused with that Andrew Breitbart Spirit and is one of our fiercest warriors. From her Boudica-like call to arms:

For those of you who are old fogies in the blogosphere, you’ll remember the “blogburst” concept — hundreds of bloggers of all sizes getting together to push an idea or action item. In this case, a blogburst would raise the cost of the online terrorists’ speech-squelching business immensely. It’s a collective show of support and force.

Along those same lines, Stranahan has proposed that Friday be “Everybody Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day.”

Even a simple link, e-mail, or tweet will do.

I will join and I hope you will find a way to spread word about this horrifying saga, too (it gets worse, believe me). The targeted victims — past, present, and future — will need not only media support, but sustained financial support. A few good and brave philanthropists could come in handy right about now. Send me an email if you can help.

Telling the truth on the Internet shouldn’t mean risking your job or your life, or the well-being and safety of your loved ones. Make your voices heard if you agree.

Further:

Over the past twenty years that I’ve worked in daily opinion journalism, written books, and traveled across the country speaking in every type of venue, I’ve always believed that the most effective response to attempted censorship of conservatives is more speech, not less.

More. Louder. Bolder.

For conservatives online, it is also a time-tested truism that there is great strength in numbers. When bloggers, activists, video content creators, and Twitter users on the Right unite behind common principles — fighting jihadi propaganda, exposing corruption, calling out media bias, following the progressive money trail, holding the Republican Party’s feet to the fire, etc. — we can accomplish uncommon things.

That’s the spirit!

Thank you, Mrs. Malkin for grabbing the standard and running with it with us towards the enemy [and thank you for the link].

-Best selling novelist Brad Thor is with us.

-As I reported last night, Ace has joined the fight [but as McGehee points out rhetorically: ‘Does Ace mention Kimberlin’s name anywhere in his post’? — why no, no he doesn’t].

-Where are the other big guns of The Rightosphere?

I’m in total agreement with Jerry Wilson’s comments on this:

I don’t get it.

Multiple leading conservative voices are attacked, one to the point where he and his family have been forced to go into hiding…

… and yet so many on the right have been totally silent.

I. Don’t. Get. It.

What’s your excuse Fox News, National Review, The Weekly Standard, The Wall Street Journal, The American Spectator, Breitbart [!], and all the others?

Please contact these organizations and people like Sean Hannity, Jonah Goldberg, Bill Kristol, etc. who work for them.

On a suggestion by Ladd Ehlinger, I collected these Twitter addresses for the Breitbart folks:

@NolteNC
@DLoesch
@BigJournalism
@benshapiro
@biggovt
@KurtSchlichter
@joelpollak
@LarryOConnor
@marychastain
@Flynn1776
@StephenBannon

It was Andrew Breitbart who warned us about terrorist Brett Kimberlain, so one would think the Breitbart crew would be all over this, but so far all we’ve gotten is one Tweet from Mrs. Loesch.

HAVE GONZO, WILL TRAVEL

-Stacy McCain just filed another report from his undisclosed location that he intends to keep updating. A highlight:

The fact that I was compelled, by concern for the safety of others, to leave my Maryland home in order to be able to continue reporting this story ought to be sufficient evidence that Kimberlin has spent the past year engaged in a serious of efforts to intimidate those who try to expose the truth about Kimberlin’s intrinsic maliciousness. But of all the many words written about this bizarre episode in recent days, none captured the essence of the problem so succinctly as a five-word sentence Scott Jacobs posted in the comments of another blog, describing Kimberlin: “He has no f–king soul.”

This whole evacuation by Stacy and his family is costing them some decent money, so, brother, if you can, spare a dime.

-Speaking of Gonzo: Richard McEnroe has found some recent pictures of terrorist Brett Kimberlain.

-Speaking of The Other McCain, last evening Smitty put together a damn fine aggregation of commentary on this story by those of us who are bigwigs in the Right’s New Media. Thanks, Admiral.

PEOPLE WHO NEED PEOPLE

Filmmaker Ladd Ehlinger asks a very pertinent question: What Did Barbara [sic] Streisand Know…And When Did She Know It? He’s also not happy with elements of the Right’s New Media:

Listen up, new-media castrati and old-media dino dung:

Barbara [sic] Streisand donated to organizations run by, founded by, or employing the services of, the convicted terrorist “Speedway Bomber” Brett Kimberlin.

Did Babs know who the beneficiary of her money was, and that her money would go to terrorizing journalists who dared to write about the “Speedway Bomber?”

Or was she a rube?

‘Castrati’ — I’m going to use that one as it fits perfectly.

THE PARTY OF THE FIRST PART

Aaron Walker offers his thoughts here on Lee Stranahan’s idea for making this Friday Blog About Brett Kimberlain Day.

GET UP, STAND UP

-I will probably update this post later and make it sticky, but I have some appointments and errands to attend to now..

Get up, stand up
Stand up for your rights
Get up, stand up
Don’t give up the fight

NOTE at 2135…

Apologies for not having done an update this evening.  My appointments went later than I thought they would.

I now have to play catch-up on what’s been happening and, therefore, will not be posting again until tomorrow morning.

    Hmph. So who the heck thought letting this guy out early was a good idea?

    And the fiscal part is just astounding. Con men ought to be run out of town, and their names and pictures passed around.

    I tweeted @barbrastreisand and asked if she knew a criminal runs one of the non-profits she donated to, but she’s too busy to notice me LOL

    You’re doing a great job and you don’t have to apologize. I like the “castrati” word too. Never saw that before. I remember when my voice teacher explained what that meant. I was a little taken aback.
