Bob’s Musings: Dispatches From The Culture Of Death

29 February 2012 @ 14:46

Bob's Muse

-I know this is a long one, but all the stories below seem to me to fit under this title…

-Over at Conservative Hideout, Matt has the 411 on those two Australian ethicists, Francesca Minerva and Alberto Giubilini, who have published a paper advocating what they label ‘after-birth abortions’ – what we in the Real World call ‘infanticide’.

Their logic is something to behold, but it is not surprising as it merely takes Leftist Thinking down a well-worn path, the path that has lead to Auschwitz, the Killing Fields, the Lubyanka, the Cultural Revolution, and the aborting of babies with birth defects.

As Pope John Paul The Great wrote in Evangelium Vitae:

12. In fact, while the climate of widespread moral uncertainty can in some way be explained by the multiplicity and gravity of today’s social problems, and these can sometimes mitigate the subjective responsibility of individuals, it is no less true that we are confronted by an even larger reality, which can be described as a veritable structure of sin. This reality is characterized by the emergence of a culture which denies solidarity and in many cases takes the form of a veritable ‘culture of death.’ This culture is actively fostered by powerful cultural, economic and political currents which encourage an idea of society excessively concerned with efficiency. Looking at the situation from this point of view, it is possible to speak in a certain sense of a war of the powerful against the weak: a life which would require greater acceptance, love and care is considered useless, or held to be an intolerable burden, and is therefore rejected in one way or another. A person who, because of illness, handicap or, more simply, just by existing, compromises the well-being or life-style of those who are more favoured tends to be looked upon as an enemy to be resisted or eliminated. In this way a kind of ‘conspiracy against life’ is unleashed. This conspiracy involves not only individuals in their personal, family or group relationships, but goes far beyond, to the point of damaging and distorting, at the international level, relations between peoples and States.

In Matt’s excellent commentary on the thinking of the ethicists, he explains one of the Left’s most frequently used tactics:

This relates to something that I used to do a great deal when I started blogging-I would illustrate how the evil among us often propose the same thing, again and again. And, in to pull the wool over the eyes of an inattentive public, they would present their same old failure with new names. In other words, they’d call it something else! In this case, they actually go out of their way to call infanticide something other than infanticide. Also note that they seem to be advocating this practice in order to accommodate the needs of parents, and not the child.

In other words, this practice would be used as birth control, just as the vast majority of “traditional” abortions are now.

Dead solid perfect. One of the reasons this tactic is often effective is because a good part of the public do not pay close attention to serious matters and because the Left always makes sure to appeal to the inherent selfishness in all men.

-You know, if someone was tasked with chronicling just the lies and distortions of the Truth Comrade Obamnin spews, that person would not have enough hours in the day to accomplish the task.

Some of them are real howlers, in a laugh-or-you’ll-cry kind of way, like this one from his speech to the UAW yesterday [Jake Tapper and Mary Bruce reporting]:

In a boisterous, excited tone, President Obama continued, criticizing Republicans who said “the workers made out like bandits in all of this; that saving the American auto industry was just about paying back unions. Really? I mean, even by the standards of this town, that’s a load of you-know-what.”

Tell that to the non-union GM stock holders who were screwed out of their investments and, while you’re at it Barry, tell that to the non-union workers who, unlike their guilded colleagues in the UAW, will not be getting any raises.

The transcript of Don Obama’s full speech may be found here.

These past three years have proven to us just how fragile civilization is. Our descent into Lawlessness And Disorder under the organized crime family known as The Democrats has been swift and is sure to accelerate as this election year proceeds on. Don Obama’s speech to the UAW was just another in a series of one’s he’s been giving to those groups that he’s seeking to rally to his thuggish cause, while in secret his minions prepare to unleash a torrent of intimidation and violence via the unions and Occupy Movement. Expect more Nuremberg-like rallies and for the intensity of them to deepen.

-Speaking of Lawlessness And Disorder…

From WWJ CBS-Detriot, we learn [tip of the fedora to the Drudge Report]:

Following a string of brutal killings and attacks, a city councilman is making bold suggestions to keep violent crimes down — including forcing gas station owners to hire security guards. WWJ’s Florence Walton reports Detroit Councilman Kwame Kenyatta is planning a midnight march against violence and fear….

Kenyatta hopes to meet with Detroit pastors to plan a “Peace Sunday”.

How about you let the police do their jobs, Kwame?

Perhaps it’s time we built a fence around Detroit and declare it an open city?

-Regarding Councilman Kenyatta, here is his official bio:

Kwame Kenyatta was elected to the Detroit City Council in November of 2005. In 2010, he was appointed as chairperson of the Council’s Neighborhood & Community Services Standing Committee after previously overseeing the Internal Operations Committee. He formerly served as Wayne County Commissioner of the 7th District as well as member and Vice-President of the Detroit Board of Education. In addition to his other professional achievements he is the author of two books titled Burning Fire, and Guide To Implementing Afrikan Centered Education.

Evidenced by the support he has received from citizens throughout the City of Detroit, Mr. Kenyatta has a long history of struggle and commitment to the community. He has directed and been involved in youth and neighborhood activities for over twenty-five years helping to provide such key services as youth initiatives, anti-drug programs, rites of passage, and assistance to senior citizens. In recognition of his reputation, he has received awards from the State, County, and the City and has been asked to appear on both local and national television and radio programs, including CNN and ABC’s Nightline.

As a former student of both Wayne County Community College and Eastern Michigan University, Kwame Kenyatta maintains the belief that education is a lifelong process and is forever pursuing his life studies. While all of his accomplishments have gained him the respect of many, he views himself as a plain and simple brother “trying to do something for his people.”

Yup, I have no doubt this ‘upstanding’ community organizer wants peace – a piece of this and a piece of that, especially if it comes from we White Devils. Just another Race Hustler.

BTW: Kwame has such a commitment to Detroit that he walked-away from his mortgage in 2009.

-Dr. Helen presents the case of one Sandra Tsing Loh, a writer who often, as is a Baby Boomer’s wont, writes about herself in the most revealing detail. Now this shameless author has written a column wherein she declares that she wishes her father, who is old and under her care, were dead.

A highlight from the Doc’s comments:

…She calls the article “Daddy Issues” and with good reason, like so many other women her age and older, she probably had issues with men that went far beyond the way that her father actually treated her and had to do just as much with a sense of entitlement and self-indulgence as it did with anything else. The fact that she wrote an article about an affair she had and her subsequent divorce is a tip-off as are her words: “I am a 47-year-old woman whose commitment to monogamy, at the very end, came unglued. This turn of events was a surprise. I don’t generally even enjoy men; …”

Mzzz. Loh is a poster child [certainly not an adult] for the depraved culture we live in. She is a raging Narcissist and has never matured emotionally. She claims her father was psychologically cruel to her and her family when he was younger. That may well be. But she made the decision to take care of the man and now, that it is interfering with her life, she wants him to die. Well, Sandra: if he was such a bastard and you held a lot of resentment towards him, why didn’t you put him in a nursing home? Placed there he would be receiving the care every human being deserves and you would be free of most of the burden. You could have visited him when it would not interfere with your precious life [which includes serial adultery, it seems]. Instead you made the decision to care for him yourself. It turned out to be too much of a burden for your precious and important little self, so you go around wishing him dead so you can be free to continue living what you call a worthwhile life [it sounds pretty meaningless and pathetic to me]. Well, boo-hoo, you selfish bitch. That’s not the way Real Life works. You take on a responsibility and you do your damn duty. And you don’t complain in public [or make money off of your complaining]

Message to those who read Mzzz. Loh’s work: You really should look at yourselves in the mirror because anyone who takes a frivolous person like her seriously has their own issues with living in the Real World.

-Political Correctness, in the form of dictating our soldier’s lifestyle habits, is proceeding apace…

From CNS News, Elizabeth Harrington reporting, we learn:

During a panel discussion Thursday on how government can promote healthy eating habits, the U.S. Army touted its mess hall labeling system that places warning on desserts and fried foods.

The event, held at the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, saw Lt. Col. Sonya Cable highlight the “Go for Green” program, which labels healthy foods green, moderate foods amber, and high calorie foods red.

Cable represents the U.S. Army Soldier Fueling Initiative, which is remaking dining facilities at Initial Military Training sites across the country. She currently serves as a dietitian and the Chief of the Human Dimensions Division within the Initial Military Training Center of Excellence.

[‘Chief of the Human Dimensions Division’???  WTF?!?  Sounds like something out of Nineteen Eighty-Four.  Eat only ‘green’ food….ummm, Doubleplusgood, soldier!….Or is Col. Cable a character in Ladd Enhlinger’s Flatland?]

And that’s not all: Cable and her crew want to social engineer our children:

During the panel discussion she advised using the “red, amber, green” system in public schools too.

“My eyes got opened very quickly that it really is a community,” she said, about her visit to Fort Jackson, S.C. seven years ago to observe its dining facilities. “We talk about a village that raises a child. Well a community develops a brand new soldier, too. And that’s what we found there.”

What kind of soldier exactly do they want to develop? Is the word ‘robo’ involved?

More proof these people are FUBAR:

If you walk into a basic training cafeteria today you will find far fewer fried foods and soda machines have been replaced with “hydration stations,” she explained.

Behavior modification anyone?:

“I had some folks say to me, ‘Well, why on earth did you even include the red ones to begin with?’ Two reasons – one, we’ve got soldiers who have racehorse metabolisms that they needed every calorie I could get into them. And by taking off the ‘red’ we just found that we couldn’t get enough calories in them.”

The second reason for including “red” foods, Cable said, was “so they could learn what contributed positively and maybe what contributed negatively. Not to say that every food is bad, it’s just how they fit into your performance goals.”

What she also meant to say: ‘But, you just wait, we’ll be banning the red stuff in the future’.

I knew this would happen once they began barring smokers from signing-up in the 1990’s. Anyone who would deny a soldier a smoke, especially on the field of battle, is an idiot. You ask someone to risk their life and you deny them a smoke?!?

This march through this institution is a grave risk to our national security.

-In a comment he left on my review of Ladd’s other film, Hive Mind, GregoryNo6 wrote:

Forgive me for going off topic with the first post, Bob, but there’s a real story breaking in Australia today about the idiot mockery directed at a courageous solder by two media cretins.

He then provides a link to a Tim Blair post for details on the incident and the pathetic apologies given.

Before you read it, please read this other post by Mr. Blair that contains the words of Corporal Benjamin Roberts-Smith upon being awarded the Victoria Cross.

GN6’s post on this may be found here. [BTW, GN6, a message from Pope Voluptuous I: ‘You are forgiven, my son’.]

The retardation of the mind known as Leftist Thinking is endemic to the whole of The West, even down under.

-Certainly, it’s celebrities have not escaped being gripped by the Progressive Madness. From Tim Blair again we learn that Lucy Lawless is a ‘victim’ of it. One does wish these line reciters, especially the good-looking ones, would just just the Hell up when they’re not filming.

-I’ll let Ladd Ehlinger have the last word. In talking about the horrible death of a nine year old little girl at the hands of her grandmother and stepmother, he wrote:

Whatever you are doing today, consider the consequences of your decisions before you act. Regardless of what pop-culture may want you to believe, human beings are not indestructible, and some things are irreversible. This is why Disney and other peddlers of crap children’s tales do such a disservice to mankind. The Grimms had it right: the world is awful and dark, and even the innocent are destroyed in horrible ways for ridiculous reasons.

Weigh your course of actions heavily.

For we are all fragile, and our time is short.

-Live Well My Friends…

I’ve been screaming about how the Lefties were pro-death for most of the last 40 years.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for saying this as well (it’s tough being what seems like the vox clamantis in deserto).

And, yes, somewhere Eric Blair is laughing at the mention of “after-birth abortions”.

      You’re quite welcome.

Knowing what he knew, understanding his fellow Leftists like he did, I am amazed Orwell never turned Right.

Even if we get 0bozo out of the WH in November, it will still take generations to untangle the insane web of leftist fuckery that has been woven into every aspect of our lives. This non-stop barrage from the left is intended to wear us all down, and I don’t know how much more I, or anyone else, can take!

Evil always demands the death of innocents. It is time we recognize it, start pointing it out and start OPENLY calling it by its name. You have gotten us off to a roaring start. Well done, my friend. Now, everyone else:

    HOLD THE LINE!!!

I’ve been studying the Leftist Mind since I read The Gulag Archipelago at the age of fifteen. One of the reasons I started this blog was to show and warn people how the Left thinks.

With respect, I would suggest you look at Thomas Sowell’s “constrained” and “unconstrained” view of human nature as opposed to “left/right.” The reason is that the same mentality exists on all sides of the political spectrum(s). I found Sowell’s explanation to be much better – and more explanative and descriptive, too.

Anyway, just a thought. I still enjoy reading your blog, keep up the good work. 🙂

    1. Very true on the whole infanticide thing. Baal worshipers, the lot of them.

    2. The started the whole red/yellow/green thing at Navy base galleys a year or two ago. I find it insulting they don’t think I know what to eat.
