Fear And Loathing 2012: Granite Grist

06 January 2012 @ 19:20

Stacy McCain is in New Hampshire.  Having hit the ground some thirty hours ago, he’s been churning out reports like the madman [they shouldn’t have called it ‘Red Bull’, but, rather, ‘Stacy McCain’] he is.  Zooming [literally] around the Granite State with Pete, DaTechGuy, the two have been have been putting a lot of miles on Pete’s old LaSabre.

Herewith links to Stacy’s reports so far and a highlight from each one…

Greetings From The Granite State!:

Santorum raised $1 million Wednesday, the same day I published my American Spectator column, “An All-American Miracle.” And Santorum has now jumped to 21% in the Rasmussen national poll.

Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Rick Santorum In Condord N.H.:

There was a discussion among reporters at my table as to whether arguing about gay marriage with college students was a smart thing for Santorum to be doing at a time when, according to conventional wisdom, he should be acting more “mainstream.” In that conversation, I was the devil’s advocate in defense of Santorum, arguing that what he did was to signal to conservatives his willing to fight for their cause, even in hostile environments. But then again, I don’t think Santorum was thinking of strategy at all: What you see is what you get, and he’s not going to change his style.

Good.  This is a time for sticking to your guns and not retreating one blessed inch.

Rick Santorum In Windham N.H.:

Like all of Santorum’s town halls today, this event is packed.

Ron Paul Rally In Nashua N.H.:

The afternoon sun — or, quite possibly, his own beatific radiance — highlights Ron Paul as he gives a press conference after his rally at the Nashua Jet Aviation hangar.

-You can keep following all of Stacy’s reports from The Live Free Or Die State by clicking on this search link.

-Also, check out this report that he filed over at The American Spectator this morning.  A highlight:

…while pundits have frequently asserted that Santorum had no organization outside Iowa, in fact he has made more campaign appearances here than any other candidate except Huntsman. While it’s nearly impossible to imagine that Santorum could fare as well here as he did in Iowa, he may once again exceed expectations, lending weight to the perception that he is the conservative with genuine momentum going into the South Carolina showdown.

Pete has been performing his usual yeoman’s work as he ignores Stacy’s shouts of ‘Go faster!!!’…

The Axis Of Fedora Rides Again Shortly :

…the Axis of Fedora is on the roll again and we’ll do our best to get all the info worth blogging about.

It might not have the speed of an Iowa Mustang but it won’t be boring.

And the week that will follow will in decades to come be one more piece of evidence for the cause of my wife sainthood.
