There’s A Spirit Abroad In The Land*

From CBS-2 in Chicago, we learn [tip of the fedora to Memeorandum]:

Union workers say someone turned on the heat lamps in blazing hot broad daylight Thursday, as they walked a picket line in front of the Park Hyatt Hotel. As WBBM Newsradio 780’s Mike Krauser reports, workers at Hyatt Hotels in nine cities are walking picket lines Thursday, trying to pressure the hotel into coming to an agreement on a new contract.

The Park Hyatt at 800 N. Michigan Ave. was among the hotels where picketing was held, and at some point Thursday morning, someone turned on the outdoor heat lamps that are usually used in winter.

Combined with the outdoor air temperature, Linda Long says it was hotter than the Hyatt kitchen she’s worked in for eleven years.

“They put the heat lamps on us, like we were nothing,” Long said. “If the heat didn’t kill us, the heat lamps would.”

I’m shedding tears for you right now, dear. Big drops of it are streaming down my face as I ROTFLMAO.

The union employees are upset because the Boston Hyatt several years ago replaced one hundred of their housekeepers with temp employees who are paid minimum wage.

Screw ones fiscal responsibility to the stockholders!

Social responsibility Uber Alles!

The Hyatt crew are probably raaaaacists too!

The folks at Hyatt HQ should promote whoever came up with the idea at the Chicago hotel – and provide him or her with a free housekeeper, to boot. The top bosses at HQ certainly deserve praise for sticking to the guns and not giving-in to the intimidation tactics of these union thug bastards.

Between Allen West’s actions these past few days and this, maybe there’s hope for the survival of the American Spirit yet.

Make more mud bricks; turn on the lamps; and commence firing – fire at will!

*My only question is: who’s the broad?

Can’t help noticing that in this dustup twixt Col. West and Rep Debbie while many who have come to her defense insisting that Col West should apologize I’ve not heard any deny that Rep Wassermann-Schultz is in fact vile and despicable. Good work Col West.

    Resistance is not futile.

Hyatt is owned by the Pritzker family, based in Chicago. They also own a major cruise line + much else. Penny Pritzker was treasurer of the Liar-in-Chief’s campaign in 2006-8. I do not know the current relationship, but best guess is it has not changed strategically. Pritzker is among the wealthiest families in USA. Jewish:
