Back To The Bone
Following up on my posting yesterday, entitled Sergeant Schultz And Colonel Hogan…
There were rumors about last night that Representative Allen West had apologized to Debbie Waaaahserman-Schultz for the remarks he made in a private e-mail to her which she released to the public. I found this hard to believe, but, ever the cynical SOB, I conceded that it could be possible given that honest and decent people go Inside The Beltway and, after breathing in the fetid air there for a bit, succumb to the swampy miasma that has infected so many a brain. So, I held back from updating my posting.
But, now Mr. West has confronted the rumor-mongers with his usual bluntness.
Rep. Allen West (R) said he had no plans to apologize to fellow Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) for a strongly worded email he sent to the congresswoman.
“That is not happening,” West said Thursday on Fox Business Network. “This is a pattern I referred to in that email that goes back to 2010. Finally I think I have the right to stand up and defend my honor and make sure that this type of activity does cease. I sent her a private email, she decided to make it public by releasing it to the news media.”
When asked whether he could change the language he used in the email if given a chance, West replied: “No, I wouldn’t.”“There are certain ways we speak in the military and I guess I have not learned the D.C. insider talk that these people are used to. Don’t poke me in the chest. That’s the bottom line to that exchange.”
Finally: someone with a backbone that doesn’t go from solid to liquid when pressure is applied.
Bravo, Mr. West.
Now…would you mind giving-up a small part of your spine so we could grow it in the lab, cut it up, and then transplant the sections into your Party’s Leadership? Do it for the children [ig: Cryin' John and crew].
