Fly The PC Skys?

14 July 2011 @ 14:48

Had you heard about this? I had not…

From CBS2 in Chicago:

Bond was set at $1 million on Tuesday for a United Airlines passenger who authorities say caused a disturbance on Chicago-to-Germany flight last week. The flight wound up making an emergency stop in Cleveland. As CBS 2′s Roseanne Tellez reports, Saleh Ali Alramakh, 21, appeared in a Cleveland courtroom on Tuesday, where he pleaded not guilty to seven counts of aggravated menacing.

Fellow passengers — who returned to O’Hare International Airport and flew out the next day — said flight attendants couldn’t get Alramakh out of the bathroom and off his phone.

The situation escalated from there.

From Fox-8 in Cleveland, MArk Zinni reporting, we learn more information:

The Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, native is accused of causing a disturbance prior to take off of United flight 944 from Chicago to Frankfurt, Germany, last Friday.

Alramakh was permitted to return to his seat, but he was accused of causing additional problems shortly after take off.

According to the government, Alramakh was told again to be seated before passengers claim he verbally and physically assaulting a crew member.

At least one passenger helped restrain Alramakh while the plane was diverted to Cleveland.

Hmmm….two incidents. Why wasn’t this guy removed after the first one?

Tip of the fedora for the Chicago link to Mike Walsh, who reports that Alramakh is actually from Saudi Arabia.

As he comments over at The Corner:

Alas, the crack, soon-to-be-unionized TSA was too busy taking adult diapers away from a dying old woman, molesting six-year-old girls, and arresting mothers in Tennessee who dare protest the manhandling of their daughters to take any special notice of Mr. Alramakh. That’s what flight crews and burly passengers are for.

In the halls of justice, the only justice is in the halls.

The obvious problem here is that Mr. Saleh Ali Alramakh was not in a wheelchair, not under 4 feet tall, not of Anglo-Saxon ancestry, not of Christian or Jewish faith, not wearing a diaper, not wearing a prosthetic leg, not nursing a baby, and/or not female. If he had shown any of those characteristics or a combination thereof, and had not been a 21-year-old Islamic male from an intolerant Islamic country, TSA would have been all over his sorry keister as a potential terrorist. Because that would have been ACCURATE PROFILING, and dang it, that’s just plain wrong during the era of hopenchange.

Ladies, I just saw an interview with Erick Stakelbeck on C-SPAN, talking about his book The Terrorist Next Door and he lays out all the Jihad, both violent and, more importantly, non-violent, that is happening across the fruited plain. I intend to buy it. The interview can be found here:
