Recedite, Plebes! Gero Rem Imperialem!* [Updated Below]

13 July 2011 @ 17:29

From Politico, Glenn Thrush and Matt Negrin reporting, we learn [tip of the fedora to Memeorandum]

A long-running tiff between the White House press corps and the West Wing over presidential access flared anew today when press secretary Jay Carney faced off with reporters over the right to shout questions at the president during debt talks.

Obama chafes at the time-honored practice of answering questions shouted at him during pooled, non-press conference events — and his staff has often opted for “stills sprays,” excluding print reporters or TV cameras who might capture Obama in the less than flattering non-act of snubbing a query.

I just got to this story, which was published at 1433 this afternoon, because I’ve been on the phone trying to arrange for a waaahmbulance for Little Barry.

I think Weasel Zippers is spot-on in his comments regarding the press’s reaction:

…Since they’re good lapdogs they only offer token protests even though it almost certainly irks the [sharia] out of them.

The Politico report on this story is the only one I’ve found so far.  I’ll keep looking, and if you see one, please let me know.

UPDATE on 14JUL2011 at 2025…

The Conservatory linked — thanks.

BTW: Do take the time to check out their whole site.  There be some good stuff there.

I’ve long been of the opinion that if Mr. Obama’s back ground was treated like ANY Republican’s, there’s no way he’d have risen higher than State Senate.

    Kick him out in 2012!

He’s such a baby, he doesn’t want to get “yelled at”. What a sickening “leader”! I’ve seen squirrels in my yard with more game. Plus, he has to have his carney barker do his dirty work! I hope the waaaaahmbulence drives his to the funny farm and keeps him there forever.

MT: Yup, and right about now, they’d be indicting him.

    Rob: Love it — thanks.

Bunni: Oooo….I like the way you think, Bunni.
