The Newt Hits The Fan: Top Campaign Staffers Resign In A Huff

09 June 2011 @ 17:11

Some actually waited a bit and resigned in a minute and a huff [sorry]…

From Fox News, via the New York Post, we learn:

The 2012 presidential campaign of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich appeared to be in crisis Thursday after a number of senior advisers resigned, FOX News reported.

According to Politico, campaign manager Rob Johnson, spokesman Rick Tyler, strategists Sam Dawson and Dave Carney all left the campaign Thursday.

Former South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson and Iowa consultant Craig Schoenfeld also quit, citing what two officials called a “different vision” for the Republican campaign.

From the TCOTS Amused Service, more details:

The explosion rocked the nation’s capital and was heard and felt several hundred miles away, fueling the original speculation that Gingrich himself had exploded.  Sources on the scene later confirmed that it was just his Campaign and that Homeland Security Officials had ruled it safe for DC residents to go out in public as there was no danger of a rain storm of blubber because what occurred was an implosion.

Rumors are already circulating that Gingrich will quit the race and return to his home planet of Bloviate in the galaxy of Dog Track.

Otis: Why they ever joined, I’ll never understand. Kinda a bad comment on their judgement, eh?

LOL – yeah. And on Newt’s judgement thinking he would be relevant. Once upon a time (20 years ago) but not now.
