The Spot-On Quote Of The Week…

31 March 2011 @ 10:47

…is awarded to The Lonely Conservative who, like many of us conservatives, is feeling more lonely these days because the GOP Leadership in the Congress appears to be ignoring us:

I’ve been very patient with the Republicans and their leadership. But it’s getting to the point where I’m wondering what planet they live on. ABC News reports that they’ve negotiated a tentative deal with the party that failed to pass a budget. Why? The House passed a budget, after, I repeat, after the Democrats failed to pass a budget last year. Why are they negotiating? We’re on the brink of insolvency. My God, as Stacy pointed out, the Democrats have given up any hopes of taking back the House in 2012. Hello!?!?! The GOP has the perfect hand to play.
This is just getting ridiculous. Let the government shut down. The world will not come to an end. The military will be funded, Social Security checks will go out, you’ll still get your mail and life will go on. If the Republicans can’t even explain that it’s the Democrats’ fault, what good are they?

Enough is enough. It’s time to draw a line in the sand, and stop allowing the progressives to control the narrative….

Spot-on and dead solid perfect.

In typical fashion for a party that rightfully is nicknamed ‘Stupid’, the GOP Leadership is ready to make a deal for a budget that has just $33 billion in spending cuts. I’m sorry, but considering that we live in the age of The Trillion, this is a measly, puny, and contemptible amount. Cryin’ John, Granny Mitch, and their minions are holding a full house straight off the deal and they are prepared to throw the pair away.

I couldn’t agree more. Spending cuts without increased revenues will never end this downward spiral. Time to allow the Bush tax cuts for the extremely wealthy to expire.

Ah, Angel, though my motto is ‘Never Despair’, I have to admit I’m feeling more cynical these days [see ].
