Irony: It’s What’s For Breakfast

29 March 2011 @ 09:20

The Oxford English Dictionary lists one if the definitions of the word ‘irony’ as: n. apparent perversity of fate or circumstances.

What else could you call this fact?…

The Wisconsin Legislative Reference Bureau last Friday published the controversial repair bill as passed by the Legislature and signed into law by Governor Scott Walker, thus, according to that state’s law, putting the bill into effect.

The new law eliminates collective bargaining for all public workers, except for police and firemen. It also prohibits the state from collecting union dues from the various unions and passing them on to the union organizations. Thus, public employee union members will see an increase in their paychecks.

Here’s the delicious irony that should give you the boost of energy you need for today, as related by William Jacobson, Overseer of Legal Insurrection:

With the law now in effect and paychecks getting an increase since union dues are not being withheld, Democrats are the party arguing for a reduction in state worker paychecks.

Mmm mmm good. This is one of those few times where perversity is a good thing.
