The Spot-On Quote Of The Day…

02 September 2010 @ 14:09

…is awarded to TL Davis, one of the company commanders over at the Washington Rebel, for this necessary call to rally ’round the flag:

This, boys and girls, is what we are about today. It is no longer sitting on the couch with a bag of Fritos and bean dip, this is the necessary foot soldiery that is needed. I will be honored to join many, many others who feel as I do. Not that one has to wave a flag, or carry a sign, or force oneself onto the TV screen in order to do good, sometimes doing good is just not being afraid, or if afraid, overcoming that fear to stand with the others and take what comes.

When I think of all of those young men during the Civil War, whichever side one was on, and the idea, the very concept of standing there, aiming down a barrel of questionable accuracy at some poor fool on the other side of the line sighting down his barrel at you, I can only think of what we do today. But, someone has to stand there on that firing line and risk something in order to get something. The days of lazy patriotism are over, and hopefully for good.

If someone really cares about the future of the American Experiment, then that person can no longer afford to be lazy.  He must rise to it’s defense in what ever way is possible and available.  He must be willing to sacrifice his comfort for the sake of preserving freedom and liberty.  He must pledge his life, his fortune, and his sacred honor to defending America.  He must do all these things not simply to protect his own freedoms and liberties, but, more importantly, because it is the right thing to do.  God gave us life and this world and Free Will and The United States Of America — the greatest gifts of all — and we show our gratitude by pulling guard duty at all times and taking up arms and placing ourselves in harm’s way to defend these gifts when necessary.
