Negotiating With Those Who Always Negotiate In Bad Faith

23 August 2010 @ 14:14

The following is very disturbing, but not at all surprising given that the Left in power in this country share many desires with the Mohammedins…

From The Hill, Jordan Fabian reporting, we learn [tip of the fedora to Andrew McCarthy]:

Sen. John Kerry, the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said Friday that there is a “very active” effort under way to reach a negotiated political settlement with the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Kerry (D-Mass.) acknowledged that “efforts” have begun after visiting Afghanistan and Pakistan this week, meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and other officials.

“I can report without being specific that there are efforts under way. They are serious and I completely agree with that fundamental premise — and so does General [David] Petraeus and so does President Obama — there is no military solution,” he told NPR. “And there are very active efforts now to seek an appropriate kind of political settlement.”

Please do take the time to click here and read the full report.

Over at The Corner, Andrew McCarthy believes he now has the answer to the question he [and many of us] has been asking: why won’t the State Department declare the Taliban a terrorist organization:

The obvious, if cynical, explanation seemed to be that we were planning to negotiate with the Taliban (or, at least, encourage Karzai’s negotiating with the Taliban).  It is supposed to be U.S. policy — or, at least, it used to be — that we don’t negotiate with terrorists for to do so would reward and thus encourage their barbaric methods. Formally branding the terrorists as terrorists would thus complicate negotiations with them.

So, the Administration refuses to declare that the Taliban are what they are.  Instead of saying that A is A, they are, instead, saying the A is x [with ‘x’ being some mythical and utterly deceitful unknown entity].

Mr. McCarthy is dead solid perfect when he says that we do not negotiate with terrorists because it rewards and encourages them.  To do so gives them a legitimacy that they do not deserve in the civilized world.

But, also, the Mohammedin is permitted to tell lies to any and all Infidels if it furthers the end of Islam eventually dominating the world.  As Koran expert Gregory Davis has written:

Historically, examples of taqiyya include permission to renounce Islam itself in order to save one’s neck or ingratiate oneself with an enemy. It is not hard to see that the implications of taqiyya are insidious in the extreme: they essentially render negotiated settlement — and, indeed, all veracious communication between dar al-Islam and dar al-harb — impossible….

If you are an Infidel, the word of any Muslim cannot be trusted.  And here is The United States government negotiating with the Mohammedin Taliban — what’s the point unless we are perpetrating some elaborate ruse in order to be able to crush them utterly?  That’s too much to expect from the blind appeasers in The White House and State Department.

Could this be one explanation?

Mr Knapp had what I considered an acceptable solution in comment #4 at RSM “And the War, Tragically, Continues’”

I seldom agree with MR Knapp but this is one exception.

Well you’ve gotta love the self importance of one John F’ing Kerry, whose recent very valuable and important trip to Afghanistan bestows upon him the street cred to opine on the situation and hint at his insiders information about what’s about. I guess he reported to duty, and now he is reporting back, mostly to tell us what a big f”ing deal he is. What a clown. Gee, John has been there and he can report back that he was right all along – we can’t win. Yeah, well what else would he say? Didn’t he say the same when he was a Lieutenant providing occasional and unreliable driving skills to the his swift boat team and managing to self inflict purple heart earning shrapnel wounds into his ass? Does he ever say anything else about our military. That’s why its so great to have him on our team.

Well, he is now reporting that we are very active in negotiating our withdrawal with the Taliban. Bully for you John! Did it ever occur to you that negotiating a withdrawal with the Taliban will result in a massive slaughter of however was fool enough to help our effort their, much like we did with the hmong people in Vietnam? Yeah, well that plan seemed good to you John, but of course you weren’t South Vietnamese, Cambodian or hmong. The political value of the peace agreement you Dems worked out seemed to have a little less sparkle from their perspective.

You’ve gotta believe this ass clown knows the agreements are no good. Of course they aren’t any good. What difference does it make to John F’ing Kerry?!

Thanks for the report, John. We all see what an important person you are. Now go back to your yacht.
