The All-Purpose Flower Child

16 June 2010 @ 10:23

In his insightful commentary on the analysis of the Anti-President’s speech last night by some of the pundits [I highly recommend reading it], Stacy McCain, at one point, makes this observation:

What is Obama’s greatest skill? Reading speeches. As I remarked in February 2009, Obama could read the ingredients from the side panel of a box of pancake batter (“…dextrose, partially hydrogenated soybean oil with mono- and diglycerides…“) and inspire standing ovations from an audience of adoring Democrats. But all Obama’s oratorical powers are useless to the task of plugging that well.

The disappointment of the MSNBC personalities at the lack of specificity in Obama’s Big Spill speech was ironic to me, because I wrote in November 2008:

Perhaps the most brilliant thing about Barack Obama’s successful campaign was its vagueness. In offering himself as the all-purpose Change We Can Believe In, Obama gave believers a blank slate and a tacit license to project upon him their deepest longings.

I must partially disagree with The Great One: The Tall Cool Detached One is not even that good at reading speeches.   He has always struck me as a poor man’s MLK and Barry ain’t got nothing on Herman Cain.

The fact is: he has no talent or skill other than the vagueness Stacy references.

I did the same thing when I was playing in bands – the silent, mysterious man-of-few-words, dressed all in black, but, at least, I could play guitar and write good songs.  I did it to get women in an ultimately frivolous situation [it worked].

There’s the key: for this narcissistic spoiled rotten brat who’s been coddled all of his life, this whole President-thing is just really super-duper play-date.

BARRY: ‘I’m a Jedi!!!’
MICHELLE: ‘Barry, put that thing down before you hurt yourself.
You’ll poke your eye out!’

BARRY: ‘Ha ha, ha ha, you’re it!

BARRY: ‘Then I went like this to Bibi Netanyahu and said:
“I’m really, reeeaaally scared of you big nose!”  Ha, ha, ha.’

Not to get too tin-foil hattish on you but I do think Obama is a very apt pupil at his studies..

The only drawback is that he’s studied Marx and Lenin all his life. Raised by commie grandparents because his whore of a mom was out playing groupie with whatever smooth talking self proclaimed socialist she could find.

The man knows what he is doing. bury the US under a mountain of debt, raise the cost of living so high it will wipe out the middle class back to a permanent underclass and have to depend on the government.. Then that won’t be sustainable so the government will have to ‘take over’ more industries then dictate who will work there.. which should be pretty easy to do seeing how they will have a stable of indentured citizens at the public dole who need to ‘earn their keep’.

That is what his end game is. If you look at all of his actions with that in mind, what he’s doing makes perfect sense.

Yeah, it’s all purely speculative and I got to take that tin foil hat off from time to time.. Gives me head aches.

That’s not tin-foil hat stuff. I agree that this is his Alinsky-ite plan. But – and this should work to our advantage – as a leader he is manifestly incompetent. He doesn’t have the will of a Stalin or even a Lenin. They weren’t spoiled and achieved a maturity that Barry has never grasped [nor, it seems, wanted to]. Everything’s been handed to Little Barry. Christ, he’s not even smart enough to choose very competent people to surround himself with – sure, they have the savvy to win elections, but not to govern.

Well, I did feel bad when I heard the heart break and disappointment in the voices of Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and that third stooge over at MSNBC… Howard Fineman. And it came as news to these guys that Bare had nothing of substance to say? As you point out, where’s the change? It’s almost comical to see these bozos all disappointed in their guy. You just want to slap ’em.

“Hey, Keith, maybe you could of figured this out a couple of years back when all the rest of us did? Maybe it could have saved this country from the world of hurt this clown is flying us into. You thought this guy was ace material? He’s a kamikaze Chris, and now that he has his hands on the controls of the nation, he’s hell bent on taking us all down in a gigantic fireball”

    Jerks.

But then there’s this inside info from Bongo Bob:

“I did it to get women in an ultimately frivolous situation [it worked].” : )

Now that really chaps my hide. Those flipping musicians made out like bandits!

Ah…when you hear musicians talk about the ‘glory of Rock And Roll’ that’s what they really mean – even the ugly guys can get them some good strange.
