The Yackety Yack On CPAC V: Stacy And Smitty’s Big Adventure

20 February 2010 @ 19:45

From time-to-time throughout the next several days, I’ll be posting some quotes and links from the best blogging coming out of CPAC.  My three four previous postings can be found by clicking: here and here and here and here.

-These postings of mine on CPAC are not in any way intended to be comprehensive aggregations; I just want to highlight the goings-on that I think are the most interesting of those I’ve seen and read.

-The Classic Liberal has done a great aggregation posting of all of the reports filed by Stacy McCain, Smitty, DaTechguy, and Liberty Movement.  He writes that he’ll have more later, so please keep checking over there.

-As I write this, Glenn Beck is scheduled to begin speaking.  I know Fox News will be carrying it and I believe C-SPAN1 will be, as well.

-Forget Martin & Lewis, Abbot & Costello, Burns & Allen, Smith & Wesson, Clinton & Gore, K & Y — they’re old hat [pun intended]:  McCain & Smith are the latest and greatest comedy team to tickle out funny bones.  Their latest adventure, McCain And Smitty Meet The VRWC, is out now on video and can be viewed by clicking here.  ‘Hey Bob, what is the plot of this fun fest?’, you ask.  I’m glad you asked, my pet ewe.  I could summarize it with all the wit and insight I usually bring to the table, but, I’m busy right now planning to launch my first offensive in Boob War I, so I’ll let Smitty himself describe the plot:

The rigors of CPAC weigh upon us. The need to swim in the upper-class-twit waters without having the nose turn blue renders the situation problematic. In this clip, Stacy and I ponder the tension in the situation as we deal with conditions that can only be described as arduous.

-Stacy McCain got to ask Andrew Breitbart a question.  A transcript, with a picture, is here.

-Smitty reviews Ann Coulter’s speech and Q&A here.

-Smitty has also been conducting a few quicky interviews on his own with Congressional candidates.  Good stuff.  He truly is a superman, managing to even do a little from-the-trenches Rule 5 blogging.

-Stacy reports that DaTechguy has gone gonzo:

When I walked into Bloggers Lounge here at the fabulous Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, Da Tech Guy greeted me: “I stayed here all night. I’ve got 21 posts scheduled. Smitty’s bringing me a change of clothes.”

See what happens when you hand hang around with Stacy — let this be a warning, especially to you young people out there.

-Speaking of DTG: He’s working his cannolis off interviewing the regular folks, politicians, and some of the speeches be delivered.  If you sent him any denari to attend CPAC, methinks you’re more than getting your money’s worth.  Check out this one and this one and this one and this one.  He’s just a cinematographic fool, so keep clicking over to his site; I’m sure there’s much more to come.

-DaTechguy pens a well-deserved accolade to Val Prieto about his fight for a free Cuba:

Two generations from now the Hollywood crowd will be a bad nightmare that has faded away, but those generations will remember Val, because their parents will remind them that when the rich and connected forget them, he didn’t.

-My new Friend In The Ether, Midnight Blue, has up the video of Andrew Breitbart’s confrontation with Max Blumenthal.  Best line:

BREITBART: Your are a joke. You’re a despicable human being.  You’re the lowest life form I’ve ever seen.  You’re entire job is to try and destroy people with Alinsky tactics.

She’s also got two other Breitbart confrontations here.  He is truly our best political warrior.

-Midnight Blue has also captured the best quote of the day:

ANN COULTER: If you don’t leave liberals in a sputtering rage you’re not doing it right.

General Breitbart shows you how to do it right.

-Don’t forget to check-in with Moe Lane [and send him some beer bucks].

-And don’t forget CPAC Blogger Of The Year Ed Morrissey’s reports over at Hot Air [yeah, okay…Allahpundit’s too].

-I’m off now to do Rule 5.

Me too. Glad to hear it. I’ll have to catch it on the repeat as I’ve been working on RULE 5 SATURDAY….how dedicated am I?

Heh… Breitbart is taking it to them, and it’s fun. Thanks for the heads-up Bob.

The sad thing is that Blumenthal will never be able to take the hint.

He assumes that because (conservatives to it too, I have to admit) he’s taking flak, he’s over the target.

But he’s in a position where he can’t tell the difference between flak and actual fighting back.
