The Spot-On Quote Of The Day…

02 February 2010 @ 17:07

…is awarded to Stacy McCain for using a word that should be used more often in any discussion of what Roe v. Wade has meant:

Kennedy [his daughter], like every other person born in America since 1973, belongs to the Chosen Generation, a survivor of a holocaust that has destroyed more than 40 million lives that were never lived. Kennedy is conscious of the unique opportunity that each life represents, including her own life. Her fiance is surely not the only one grateful for her existence.

It has, indeed, been as the OED defines it: ‘destruction or slaughter on a mass scale’.

My daughter was born January 22, and I think of that notorious anniversary every year – with a rather loud “UP YOURS” to the ‘rights’ crowd.

One of the oldest rules of battle is that when your enemy is busy destroying themselves, step aside and watch the show. Statists and liberals have been aborting themselves towards a legislative minority for more than a generation.

That understanding puts many of us on this side of RvW in a difficult position. The evil of such a Pyrrhic suicide on the Left is that it takes many innocent lives to accomplish it.

To over-turn RvW is to give the Left the precious gift of Life… and with that, eventually comes all the Death the Left has historically served-out. I don’t know if this story has a happy ending.

All I know is that I shall give Thanks to the Almighty for the lives of my amazing, lovable kids.

Every life is worth saving…I mean, Hell, we can ship all the Lefties to Mecca.

Some Leftists claim that the abortion rate has resulted in a decreased crime rate. They then point out that abortion results in a tangible moral good to society.

What any sane person quickly realises is that the “good” is the result of killing people before they have even had a chance to be born, let alone commit a crime. It is tantamount to capital punishment for a slight-increased-maybe-sort-of-risk-of-robbery. It is evil.

Likewise, the good or the bad that may flow from killing or not killing an innocent child is irrelevant to the underlying issue of killing that child..
