The Left’s Dependency

A posting by The TrogloPundit [the evil Burri, not the good Burri] brought this Woody Allen quote to my attention [compelled to quote in full for reasons you'll see]:

Woody Allen has dictator envy:

“…it would be good…if [Obama] could be a dictator for a few years because he could do a lot of good things quickly.”

The question is: with Dictator Obama in power, would Democrats still scream about Republican obstructionism?

Now Lancelot Link Burri is being humorous [well...he's trying], but his question, if taken seriously and answered, will give you another insight into Leftist Thinking.

The Answer: Yes, they will still scream because, for a Leftist regime to survive, it must always have an enemy to battle.  It needs a contrasting force to rally its enslaved, or to-be-enslaved, citizens to hate.

Orwell understood this very well and created for his fictional government in Nineteen Eighty-Four the endless, perpetual war policy, complete with a daily Two Minutes Hate rally.

We’ve seen that this is a policy believed in by the Anti-President and his minions.  Here’s Comrade Foreign Minister Rodham:

I’m actually excited by this opportunity. I’m very well aware that we are not yet through this economic crisis but the chief of staff for President Obama [Rahm Emanuel] is an old friend of mine and my husband’s and was in the White House when Bill was there. And he said, you know, never waste a good crisis, and when it comes to the economic crisis don’t waste it when it can have a very positive impact on climate change and energy security. And that’s what we’re trying to do.

Implied in the Alinsky-inspired philosophy of ‘never waste a good crisis’ is that constant crisis is a positive thing.  I believe it was Jonah Goldberg who phrased it as the Liberal Fascists [aka Progressives] always elevating situations to a ‘war footing’.

Also, by directing the mob’s anger towards a demonized enemy, the Leftists in power deflect their attention from the miseries being inflicted upon them by their own government.  Because, you see, every Leftist regime seeks to enslave it’s citizens in a prison of dependency and this goes against the nature of the human soul, which yearns to breathe freely.

The policies of every Leftist regime are unpopular with most of the peoples of that regime, but it is really for the fellow-travellers/dupes and useful idiots that the philosophy is aimed.

In America there are a large group of people who want to preserve what was deeded to us by The Founding Fathers, but they are not a majority [they never have been].

The committed Leftists make up a very small minority.

The rest of the population is divided into two groups:

(1) the Sheeples who

…voluntarily acquiesce to a perceived authority, or suggestion without sufficient research to understand fully the scope of the ramifications involved in that decision, and thus undermine their own human individuality or in other cases give up certain rights. The implication of sheeple is that as a collective, people believe whatever they are told, especially if told so by a perceived authority figure believed to be trustworthy, without processing it or doing adequate research to be sure that it is an accurate representation of the real world around them.

(2) the Instinctualists who, while primarily independent in spirit are too lazy to spend the time doing the necessary reading and thinking in order to be able to understand what the government is up to.  They rely solely on their gut or, at the very best, the glancing they perform on newspaper reports [this trend is dying-out] or on televised reports.  Because they have not done the necessary grunt work [or, as I like to put it, stood guard duty for The Republic], they rely on feelings to make their decisions.  They are swayed by their emotional responses to sights [ex: good looks or a thrilling video] and sounds [ex: politicians and pundits who strike the right emotional chord in their hearts].  They are called by various names: swing voters, the middle, the moderates, the centrists, etc..

The Left see those who preserve the legacy of The Founders as lost causes, ripe for demonization through distortions and the telling of outright lies about their views.

The Left, therefore, targets the Sheeples and the Instinctualists who are both ruled by their emotions.

The Sheeples are the easiest, of course, to sway because of their decision to embrace rank stupidity and slavish devotion to those in power.  They are our version of Middle Earth’s Orcs and can be found in the past guarding the Nazi concentration camps and Soviet Gulags.  Now, they may be seen in SEIU union halls and ACORN offices.

The Instinctualists require more work to sway because they do retain a small remnant of individuality.  That is why it is essential for the Left to portray the enemy Right in high-strung and hysterical terms.  They’ve got to stir and then sway the hearts of their prey.

So, even if they triumph and achieve the level of power and control they desire, the Left will still require an enemy.  If the Right is eliminated in The United States, the American Left will find some other group to make their main object of warhate.  But, for now they can continue to make the Sheeples and Instinctualists believe…

We are at war with the Right; we have always been at war with the Right.

This is hilarious! You have described today’s Republican party perfectly. It is quite humorous how the extremist right takes their weakness and projects it on others to prevent the transparency of the extremist right policies. That is even a campaign strategy of Mitt Romney.

One proveable, simple fact is that educated people are the base of the left wing extremists. Look at any voter demographic surrounding cities with high concentration of people with college degrees and with universities and colleges. They almost always vote left wing extremist.

Now, let’s look at the demographic of high school drop outs and high school degrees. (Note that Shawn Hannity, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh are high school graduates.) A great cross section is the south. They typically vote Republican right wing extremist. Why? Because they, in your words, “too lazy to spend the time doing the necessary reading and thinking in order to be able to understand what the government is up to.”

Just ask any high school graduate and republican from the south a few questions. They will get every single one wrong and you will know who is uninformed.

    1) Why did the Bush Administration attack Iraq? They will say weapons of mass destruction or Sadam was involved in 9/11. Both of which are proven wrong over and over. Let’s not forget the fact that George Bush can’t fly out of the country since warrants for his arrest have been issued for war crimes.

    2) Who made the biggest cuts in military spending since President Carter? They will say President Clinton. Wrong again. It was George HW Bush 17% cut, President Clinton 3% cut..

    3) Rank which presidents had the biggest government? They will always say President Clinton and Obama. Here is the truth. Reagan, GHW Bush, George Bush, Obama, and then Clinton. So who has big government? Invariably republicans always get this wrong. Go to the treasury.gov and look at the budgets. Or course you won’t.

    4) Who has spent more money, President Bush or President Obama? George Bush added 5.4 trillion in NEW spending, Obama 1.3 Trillion. Of course, republicans are wrong again.

    5) How many private sector jobs were created under President Bush? No matter what a republican says they are wrong. ZERO is the correct answer. Republicans always say jobs were created, however, the only jobs created were when George Bush blew up the size of government.

    6) How much does the average business pay in taxes as a percent? Republicans never get this right either. Again treasury.gov gives you the answer. It’s between 8% – 9%. Wait a minute! I thought business had the biggest tax burden in the world!!

What is shameful, is you yourself, are “too lazy to spend the time doing the necessary reading and thinking in order to be able to understand what the government is up to.”

Stop getting your facts from high school graduates and get them from somewhere that has credibility. You obviously have none.
