He may have found the inspiration for Team Obama’s cartoon character [in more ways than one] ‘Julia’.  And he was kind enough to let me pass it on to you.

In case you don’t know who this fictional serf is, here’s Jessica Gavora’s description, which is spot-on [tip of the fedora to her husband Jonah Goldberg]:

“The Life of Julia,” the Obama campaign’s new interactive Web ad, follows a cartoon everywoman, Julia, through the milestones of a middle-class American life: education, work, motherhood, retirement. One milestone is pointedly missing: marriage.

But, then again, why should Julia get married? She doesn’t need to. Like a growing number of single women with children, Julia is married to the state.

As a character drawn and focus-grouped by political consultants, Julia is designed to remind voters of the government programs President Obama champions and likely GOP nominee Mitt Romney is ostensibly intent on taking away. Julia goes to school (with help from Headstart and federal student loans), she works (thank you, Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act and Small Business Administration), she has a son (free health screenings brought to her by Obamacare) and she retires (Social Security and Medicare pay the bills while she volunteers in a community garden).

But Julia is a more artful and nuanced creation than a simple tour guide to the utopia that awaits under a second Obama term. She is designed to appeal to a narrow but deep demographic: single women, especially single women with kids.

Julie, or the New Héloïse (French: Julie, ou la nouvelle Héloïse) is an epistolary novel by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, published in 1761 by Marc-Michel Rey in (Amsterdam). The original edition was entitled Lettres de deux amans habitans d’une petite ville au pied des Alpes (“Letters from two lovers living in a small town at the foot of the Alps”).

The novel’s subtitle points to the history of Héloïse d’Argenteuil and Pierre Abélard, a medieval story of passion and Christian renunciation. The novel was put on the Index Librorum Prohibitorum.

Although Rousseau wrote it as a novel, a philosophical theory about authenticity permeates through it, as he explores autonomy and authenticity as moral values. A common interpretation is that Rousseau valued the ethics of authenticity over rational moral principles, as he illlustrates [sic] the principle that one should do what is imposed upon him by society only insofar as it would seem congruent with one’s “secret principles” and feelings, being constituent of one’s core identity. Thus unauthentic behavior would pave the way to self-destruction.

Be real, man!  Like, do your own thing, Julia, and all will be groovy. 

SIDENOTE: You’ll notice that, though Jessica and Jonah are married, she has retained her maiden name.  Never fully trust a conservative who let’s his bride-to-be get away with such a Feminist act, such a slap in the face of tradition.  It’s a sign of weakness of the soul, the will, that could portend future failures to uphold The Permanent Things when it really matters.

They need class-warfare and rich people for the same reason the Soviet needed xenophobic imperialism and a strong West.

They need the rich for both shakedowns and envy.

It would be so much easier were there no elections.

But even without elections, they would still need a homogenized client base and a strong enemy, as did the Soviet.

The weakness of their approach, as also the Soviet’s, is the non-differentiation they induce artificially across the lives of their client base, a non-differentiation required to keep the base focused against the enemy, who in this case, because there is voting, is the rich.

Needing the rich to shakedown is also a weakness but not so large or consequential a one as needing to keep the client base in envy.

Societies and other systems work by differentiations of all kinds all throughout them and over against them.

Without internal and external differentiations (i.e., countless kinds, changes and gradients of information) systems collapse quickly.

Totalitarian systems need internal and external enemies to survive at all.

However, by eliminating internal enemies, if not also external ones, totalitarian societies reduce internal differences and, in direct proportion, their own viability.

Totalitarians are queer birds. Dogs, maybe? They want totalism and undo themselves by succeeding.

Differences throughout the lives of individuals and groups keep them viable. It is good that some are rich and some are not. It is healthy that rich can become not and not can become rich. Differentiation is the root of life. Dialectic drives the cosmic dance.

Stacy McCain, Matthew Vadum, and others are now doing the same thing with George Soros, The Tides Foundation, convicted domestic terrorist Brett Kimberlin, a top Democratic consultant, a influential Leftist blogger, and some more folks are connected in a scheme to harass conservative bloggers, Twitter users, and, generally, just any one on the Right who tries to expose the Left for what it believes and what it is doing.

The Vetting – Exclusive – Obama’s Literary Agent in 1991 Booklet: ‘Born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii’

A highlight:

Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama’s then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”

The booklet, which was distributed to “business colleagues” in the publishing industry, includes a brief biography of Obama among the biographies of eighty-nine other authors represented by Acton & Dystel.

It also promotes Obama’s anticipated first book, Journeys in Black and White—which Obama abandoned, later publishing Dreams from My Father instead.

As the Senior Managers of Breitbart write:

It is evidence—not of the President’s foreign origin, but that Barack Obama’s public persona has perhaps been presented differently at different times.

According to archive.org, a website that caches websites on a regular basis, the Dystel.com website – the official website for Dystel & Goderich, Obama’s literary agents – was using the Barack Obama “born in Kenya” language until April 2007, just two months after then-Senator Obama declared his campaign for the presidency.
