Thoughts On The Recent Occurrences In America
Some thoughts on the occurrences that just passed…
-First, let me note that the scarcity of posts and the drive-by nature of most of the posting I’ve done lately has been due to having a heavy work schedule and various events going on in RealWorld™ [before you ask, my health is fine]. Coupled with the disgusting behavior by The Establishment in Washington, these events have left me with some mental exhaustion [which has impeded the gathering of coherent thoughts] and a touch of the Black Dog.
The situation was not helped, of course, by the discovery that I had allowed myself to be played for a fool. Mrs. B. has been in a bit of a funk as well, so last Saturday we ‘ran-away’ for a day, driving to the sea and enjoying it in the best way [for us] possible: sitting in two bars watching the ocean, enjoying each other’s company as we put on a glow.
To try and break the hold the Dog has over me, I have been seeking succor, as I often do, in such things as the works of Russell Kirk, JRR Tolkien, and The Founding Fathers — I’m thinking of renewing my acquaintance with JS Bach, as well [it's been too long a separation].
-It seems to me that the only possible positive outcomes of the whole vulgar, degenerate, and obscene spectacle we’ve been witness to in Washington are:
1. our ranks may grow a bit, as some of our fellow Americans may have finally felt compelled to pull their heads out of their arses and see the seriousness of our grave situation — not very many, sadly, but we’ll take anyone we can get, at this point;
2. the idea of abandoning the auxiliary arm of the Democratic Party, known as the Republican Party, and the forming of a second party seems to be gaining more steam and legitimacy in the eyes of many heretofore hestitators.
That’s about it on the positive side, as far as I can see [I would like to know if you think there is anything else positive that can come out of this wretched situation].
-Whatever happens in the coming months regarding progress in the areas just mentioned, I hope that many more of us, the Hobbits and Visigothian Terrorists, have come to the realization that, even as we try to achieve the restoration of our freedoms and liberties civilly, it is now clear that we must prepare for the likely possibility that such efforts will fail. We must be ready to take up arms and resist the Tyrants. Pray it never comes to that, but, as the cancer of Despotism spreads, we would be failing in our duty to our families and neighbors and to The Founders if we did not prepare to effect a separation.
-In speaking before the Continental Congress after the it declared Independence, Samuel Adams remarked:
The hand of Heaven appears to have led us on to be, perhaps, humble instruments and means in the great providential dispensation, which is completing. We have fled from the political Sodom; let us not look back, lest we perish and become a monument of infamy and derision to the world….
Well, America has looked back. It has rejected the Dispensation of Providence so dearly given, once dearly held in the hearts of all Americans. We have willingly returned to the dank and foul lands of political Sodom, with our wrists before us ready to be handcuffed and chained to the pillars of Gomorrah. And we are making ourselves worthy of the term ‘infamous’ in the disdain-filled eyes of all of those who have given their lives to preserve what we have so easily and blithely squandered.
For my own part, I ask no greater blessing than to share with you the common danger and common glory. If I have a wish dearer to my soul than that my ashes may be mingled with those of a Warren and a Montgomery, it is that these American States may never cease to be free and independent.
