#IdiotSpotting – Admiral Samuel Locklear III, CDR-PACOM
Another Perfumed Prince opens his mouth as he mimics his Fearless Leader…
From NRO, Eliana Johnson reporting, we learn:
North Korea has scrapped the 1953 armistice with South Korea and the Chinese government seems to have hacked much of Washington, D.C., but the man in charge of America’s Pacific Command says the chief long-term security threat in the region is climate change, according to the Boston Globe.
Admiral Samuel Locklear III on Friday warned that global warming may “cripple the security environment”; he also said that whole nations could be displaced by a rising seal-level.
From The Boston Globe article Miss Johnson links, more of what the bootlicking toady has to say:
Navy Admiral Samuel J. Locklear III, in an interview at a Cambridge hotel Friday after he met with scholars at Harvard and Tufts universities, said significant upheaval related to the warming planet “is probably the most likely thing that is going to happen . . . that will cripple the security environment, probably more likely than the other scenarios we all often talk about.’’
“People are surprised sometimes,” he added, describing the reaction to his assessment. “You have the real potential here in the not-too-distant future of nations displaced by rising sea level. Certainly weather patterns are more severe than they have been in the past. We are on super typhoon 27 or 28 this year in the Western Pacific. The average is about 17.”
…
“The ice is melting and sea is getting higher,” Locklear said, noting that 80 percent of the world’s population lives within 200 miles of the coast. “I’m into the consequence management side of it. I’m not a scientist [BOB: No, sir, you're obviously not...so STFU], but the island of Tarawa in Kiribati, they’re contemplating moving their entire population to another country because [it] is not going to exist anymore.”The US military, he said, is beginning to reach out to other armed forces in the region about the issue.
“We have interjected into our multilateral dialogue – even with China and India – the imperative to kind of get military capabilities aligned [for] when the effects of climate change start to impact these massive populations,” he said. “If it goes bad, you could have hundreds of thousands or millions of people displaced and then security will start to crumble pretty quickly.’’
I was wondering what that raucous sound I keep hearing off to the West was: it’s the Red Chinese and Indians laughing their arses off at us. No wonder the Chicoms think they can overtake us militarily.
Feckless fool…disgrace to the uniform.

“Sir! The Stennis battlegroup reports incoming Chinese anti-ship missiles. Do they have clearance to order their Aegis units to return fire?”
“Good God, man! Think of of the carbon footprint! Heat-neutral passive countermeasures only! Send that and confirm acknowledgment!”
“No acknowledgment so far, sir….”
ROTFLMAO [and leaving no carbon footprint].
What really worries me, aside the from the absolute lack of character being shown by yet another careerist ring knocker, is the fact that the commander of our Pacific Fleet is ten years behind the curve on his global warming scare rhetoric. Probably can’t wait to see his new Fletcher DD’s pass in review….
Brother – he’s not the Pacific Fleet Commander – he’s THE combatant commander for ALL US military forces in the Pacific. Answers only to Chairman of JCS, SECDEF and POTUS.
What’s really disturbing is that if they really believe the seas are rising that dramatically why aren’t they doing anything about it. For instance if Tarawa needs to be abandoned due to rising seas then the top 100′ or so should be removed with explosives lest it become a hazard to tanker traffic.
