The Spot-On Quote Of The Day…
…is awarded to Smit-tay [it rhymes!] for devising the following great metaphor out of his observations of Itty Bitty Smitty:
The World’s Youngest Blogger, at 4.5 months, is teaching me a lot about life. Also: teething, amidst loud, angry shrieks. Especially when he is feeding.
This struck me as a metaphor for the country. Hunger, for food or success, is a phenomenal motivator, no matter how old you are. Yet Progressivism has reduced Americans to an infantile state, via entitlements, that swaddle the teeth like gums in their hatred of competition and capitalism. The #Occupiers are probably the nadir of this devolution to infantilism. So you’re starving, and you really need to eat something, but restoring proper dental facilities means PAIN! Progressivism wants to weaken people to the point that the Nanny State feeding tube is all that will keep them ‘fairly’ alive.
Spot-on.
Many of us on the Right often speak of the Left’s desire to drag everyone down to the same level of mediocrity, but methinks we should further define what we mean by mentioning that, to reach this low state, requires that we think of ourselves all as children and the government as the big momma with many teats and a gigantic breast pump, connected to a feeding tube manufactured by the lowest qualified bidder [or a big doner to The Establishment in power].
