Cain Scores: The Smoking Man
I can’t say exactly why, but I like this ad…
‘Mischievous’ is the first word that comes to mind [is that a twinkle in Mr. Cain's eyes?].
William B. Davis is the first person that comes to mind.
Big tip of the fedora to Admiral Smitty [The Smokin' Man].

That was a pretty good ad. Hope you’re doing great Bob.
I’m doing just fine. I just wanted to see how you’re getting along.
I quit smoking sometime back and know how hard it is to quit and the risks, but I love this ad. It is in your face, government stay out of of lives, we can make our own decisions and it is truly quite brilliant. Cain and his advisors are listening to people telling them they want less government interference in their lives. He is also telling people to quit listening to others telling them what is right or wrong, that he accepts that they are grown ups and able to make their own decisions! Do you think I may be reading to much into it? He reminds me of Sarah Bob B.
I think you may have it right. Any successful ad, like any successful story or song leaves enough room for the viewer/reader/listener to put their own spin on it; the author merely provides guidence.
The pundits who try to explain it won’t understand it.
They certainly haven’t yet [haw-haw].
I think this is a smart ad. Millions of Americans smoke, and twice as many Dems smoke as Republicans. There have to be huge numbers of Union members who are patriots and unhappy with their dominating Union leaders. They might want to vote for Herman Cain.
Return of The Reagan Democrats!
I think, out of all the people currently running, HC is the only one who stands a chance of appealing to this group.
I’m having X-File flashbacks…. I read that the guy actually quit smoking and was using fake ones for the shoots.
Dig the ad…. too bad they didn’t use the smoker guy ……..
