The Spot-On Quote Of The Day…

22 April 2011 @ 20:27

…is awarded to Friend In The Ether and frequent TCOTS commentator, Adobe Walls, for his sharp insight into why Donald Trump is appealing to a lot of folks:

The biggest problem for Conservatives is that none of our leaders are as pissed as we are or, if they are, they are afraid to show it. Trump isn’t going away unless and until somebody can capture that anger. Trump is expressing that anger without really giving policies that address that anger. Until somebody does that, get used to seeing Trump on the news and in the Blogs day in and day out. Hell, he’s been trashed by pundits from both sides – he’s got to be on to something.

We all know we aren’t going to take Libya’s oil but it’s nice to contemplate such bold ideas.

Spot-on.

Any candidate worthy of the GOP Nomination must feel the anger we all do, must share in our disgust at what the Left is doing to this country, must understand that the American Experiment is on the verge of failing.

Trump is shamelessly exploiting the anger felt by patriotic Americans.  He will continue to resonate with a lot of desperate people unless a real angry American emerges in the race.

I’m still looking at Herman Cain. I think he’s got “it.” Trump? Not so much. Though I have to admit, he is the perfect attack dog at this point.
