Bring On Da Noise, Bring On Da Hump
A Little Hump Day Rule 5 will be delayed onea day as I’ve been ordered by my teenybopper grand-niece to make an ’80′s mix for her birthday party on Saturday [three to four hours worth and no punk allowed].
They’re already having ’80′s nostalgia parties? Man…I’m feeling old.

You think that’s old? I work in an office where NO ONE gets Sid & Marty Krofft Jokes… I had a coworker today who’d never even heard of Peter Gunn even while he was humming its theme song…
You think that’s old I quit drinking on Dec 31, 1985
Richard: That’s why sometimes I feel the need to footnote or link to a Wikipedia-like article after making some reference in a posting. Now I know how Dennis Miller feels.
Adobe: I hope you at least keep one vice – Churchill said never trust a man who doesn’t have at least one vice [I think he meant Bolshes] – one should always have a preference that is ‘beyond the niceties’.
I’m invited to an ’80s nostalgia party this weekend…..
Cigars
You need a little Boy George (forget the confused sexuality, the guy was a lot of fun at parties), Talking Heads, The Go-Gos, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna – on second thought, naa. Kenny Loggins, Soft Cell, Duran Duran (I know), Hall and Oats, Banarama, and some Micheal Jackson – that’s a start anyways. You’re the man, Bob!
: )
Don’t forget The Go-Go’s and B-52′s and Pat Benatar. Hot babes all!
And since you seem to be pre-occupied, I took the liberty of providing a nice 80′s inspired Rule 5 interlude for your viewing pleasure.

1) Thanks all for the comments and suggestions.
2) Adobe: Cigars are a wonderful vice. I quit smoking cancer sticks on 21 July 2001 [Doc's orders] after having smoked four packs-a-day for twenty years and I allow myself one cigar a year – an hour or so of Heaven in a twilight world [with boubon accompaniment, of course].
3) Roxe: I hope the music selection will be less ‘girly’ than what I had to produce for the mix [although, I must admit, Madonna's Into The Groove is one of the best pop dance songs of all time]. Let me know how it goes music and fashion-wise.
4) Nicholas: Mrs. B. made me include Do You Really Want To Hurt Me. I left out the Talking Heads [and I don't have Life During Wartime on CD (I've got to digitize my old records)], but the other three are well represented. Tainted Love is just too gay [I don't want to be responsible for helping to create a future generation of Fag Hags]. The only Duran Duran I have in digital form is not up to snuff [if I could have, believe me, I would have snuck in Girls On Film] – no Hungry Like The Wolf. Hall And Oates [great stuff], Bananarama, and Michael Jackson are present [my grand-niece loves the Thriller album - God help us]. As for Kenny Loggins: I. Don’t. Think. So. I do have my limits. I was disappointed to find out I don’t have any Human League on CD.
5) Chris: The Go-Go’s, as well as solo Belinda Carlisle, are well-represented. More importantly, so are The Bangles. Sadly, I couldn’t find my Joan Jett greatest hits CD. As for Ant Rent-A-Car…well, the name says it all [I know, you Jersey guys like that kind of broad]. As for The B-52′s: well, it wouldn’t be a party without them! [although I'm sad that I didn't have the space to fit in Planet Claire, just Love Shack and Rock Lobster] I was able to, however, squeeze-in The Ramones doing Rock And Roll High School. Thanks for taking the liberty – I will be leaving some comments over at your posting on your choices.
6) Well, I burned four discs and my little GN will have 4.5 hours of music tomorrow – I hope she likes it. After we return from the party, though, methinks I’ll be cranking The Clash, Ultravox [John Foxx Era], some reformed Deep Purple, Bauhaus, and Human Sexual Response.
