How About A Little Breather…
We all need a little breather. And, hey, it’s Saturday Night and the lumpwort lickspittles of the Leftist god and the nibbling nitwit nimrods of our natural rights are off doing whatever it is pathetic pusillanimous parasites do in their sorry-ass slime-ridden social lives, so let’s kick back and relax a bit…
-Hello everybody, this is your host, Rockin’ Bob Belvedere, spinning all the hits on this lastt Saturday of July 2010. We’ve got a little special theme going this evening: songs that came out when you were young and now are classified as ‘oldies’ and that makes you really feel your age…woo hoo!…that was a mouth full.
Well, let’s jump right on that old multi-colored bus and head down memory lane with a six-pack of songs provided by our good Friend In The Ether, John Doe, the Mysterian behind Smash Mouth Politics. Here’s I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Devil With The Blue Dress, Old Time Rock ‘N’ Roll [that one really fits], Cracklin’ Rose, [Come On Baby] Light My Fire, and my favorite Jimi Hendrix Song: Hey Joe….take it away John!
-After all that rockin’, I think it’s time we mix up a little something to whet our whistles. Courtesy of the Reaganite Republican, we’re gonna mix up a little Cream and some Strange Brew.
-That went down smoooooth. You know folks, the Reaganite Republican is one of my best Friends In The Ether, but we have our differences. For example, he recently chided me for publishing a few pics of some voluptuous gals that he called ‘fat’. Well my friend, I have just two words for you: Ashley Graham…
-Music is a magical medium that can transport you to different places and into different moods. It’s the ultimate great cocktail because it doesn’t leave you with a hangover, it just satisfies. While we have been enjoying some great magick so far, how ’bout we kick it up a notch? Sit back and space out with some Pictures Of Matchstick Men, a little of some Sweet Oxygen, and a little Hocus Pocus by Focus…brought to by The Great Gator himself: Dougini!
-No look back to this epoch time in Rock And Roll would be complete without a couple of numbers of the bluesyest lady to ever stomp her heel on the stage. Via Adrienne, here’s Lady Janis Joplin and Cry Baby and Piece Of My Heart!
-You’re listening to WOLV-BM — Wolverine Radio: The Sound Of The Rightosphere. This is your host, Rockin’ Bob Belvedere; you’re guide up the mountain of love and your back door man. Don’t forget you can hear me every sunrise because: I am the morning DJ at WOLD-DDDDDD / Playing all the hits for you / Wherever you may be.
-And where do we go from here? Why, thanks to Little Miss Attila, we’re gonna Rock On!
-Our theme here tonight has been ‘that came out when you were young and now are classified as ‘oldies’ and that makes you really feel your age’ [whew! — I got through it a second time without hurting myself]. You can’t do that period without including this next man. He was the poet of the epoch and perhaps his greatest work came right at the start of it all. So sit back and remember how you used to do the bump and grind in your young time with Like A Rolling Stone — take it away Donald Douglas!
-Well folks, it’s been a real gas hanging out with you and spinning some oldies that ain’t moldy, but it’s about time I went back to my lair and prepared this week’s Rule 5 entry, so let’s end two classics songs from the period…
-First up, let’s electrify the joint and give 50,000 watts of juice to Frankenstein…
-Now that we’re surging across the grid, I think we’re ready for a little Rock And Roll Hootchie Koo…
One final word: if you’ve embedded a music video on one of your blog postings and you’d like to see it featured on our show — I don’t care what genre of music — drop me an e-mail and we’ll see if we can get it on.
