The Real Servants Of Sathan [Updated Below]
The despicable and base cretins who make up the Westboro Baptist Church are planning two events this weekend.
The most contemptible is the first which will held on Saturday when Spc. Joshua A. Tomlinson, a twenty-four year-old warrior who was murdered by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan along with four others, will have his funeral celebrated at 1315 at the First Baptist Minden Church in Minden, Louisiana.
Pat Austin has the details here and information on The Patriot Guard Riders who may show up to protect the grieving family and their friends [tip of the fedora to Red for alerting me to this story].
The second bit of base theatrics by these imbeciles will be on Sunday when they show up at Ronnie James Dio’s public memorial service on Sunday at 1400 at The Hall Of Liberty located at Forest Lawn in Los Angeles. It seems these whack jobs think Ronnie James was a singing servant of Sathan.*
Little would make me happier than footage of a few dozen repugnant WBCers getting mudhole-stomped by some enraged metalheads. See, Fred Phelps and his loathsome clan get their jollies from going to military funerals and telling the family how happy they are that their brave loved one is dead, among other things. Their antics have gone on quite long enough and I think it’s long past time for them to reap the wages of their vileness.
I have always advocated against physical violence at this site, so I will just leave you all with two words: frontier justice.
UPDATE at 1647…
Lipton T. Bagg, who is one of the Patriot Guard Riders, has provided some background information on the WBC:
Westboro Baptist members are almost all from the same family cesspool, errr, tree. Many of their senior members are actually former civil rights attorneys, and this organization is set up to provoke people (or the government) into a civil rights violation for which they can sue and win money.
Westboro Baptist is not sanctioned nor endorsed by any true Baptist convention. They fit into a loophole originally meant to ensure religious autonomy of Independent Baptist Churches. As such, they are no more a true Baptist Church than a mail-order minister is a man of the cloth. They are intelligent, and know how to manipulate the rule of law.
They are simply a hate group which found a safe haven in the protections this country established to protect the right to worship freely. I am sure there is effort somewhere to crack their facade.
God, I hope so. If anyone knows of an effort, send me the info and I’ll gladly publish it.
Thanks, LTB.
UPDATE at 1707…
Lipton has more here on WBC’s plans for this weekend at a number of places across the country. A highlight:
Those of you who know me are aware of my involvement and support of Patriot Guard Riders. I would typically send you to their website, but by some stroke of coincidence, their site came under attack at the same time Westboro’s memorial Day weekend protest schedule was posted to their website….
UPDATE at 1937…
Lipton informs us of the following:
I confirmed SPC Tomlinson’s body has been delivered to the family in escort by PGR. They will also be shielding the family at his memorial.
I don’t know about you, but that makes me feel better about Saturday.
THANK YOU PGR.

* Ronnie James Dio was born a Roman Catholic of Italian descent. I have no idea if he was still a member of The Church or not. I do know, having followed his career since the late 1970′s that he was, judging by his lyrics, a spiritual man who wanted good to triumph over evil. Perhaps it was that he lived up to the old stereotype: Once a Catholic, always a Catholic. All I know is: I never would have remained a fan if he had been to The Crossroads and made a deal with Old Lucifer because I sensed he was a good man looking for answers.
Here are a sample of some of his lyrics so you can be the judge:
From Heaven And Hell, the reality of life and the temptations you’ll encounter:
The Devil is never a maker
The less that you give, you’re a taker
So it’s on and on and on, it’s Heaven and Hell, oh well
The lover of life’s not a sinner
The ending is just a beginner
The closer you get to the meaning
The sooner you’ll know that you’re dreaming
They say that life’s a carousel
Spinning fast, you’ve got to ride it well
The world is full of Kings and Queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
It’s Heaven and Hell, oh well
And they’ll tell you black is really white
The moon is just the sun at night
And when you walk in golden halls
You get to keep the gold that falls
It’s Heaven and Hell, oh no!
Fool, fool!
Look for the answer!
Fool, fool, fool!
From Voodoo, a warning:
Say you don’t know me, you’ll burn
You can refuse, but you’ll lose, it’s by me
Say you don’t want me, you’ll learn
Nothin’ you do will be new, ’cause I’m through
Call me a liar, you knew
You were a fool, but that’s cool, it’s all right
Call me the Devil, it’s true
Some can’t accept but I crept inside you
So if a stranger calls you
Don’t let him whisper his name
‘Cause it’s Voodoo, oh!
Bring me your children, they’ll burn!
Never look back, never turn!
Cry me a river, you’ll learn
Voodoo!
From Rainbow In The Dark, how to know you’re fallen:
Do your demons
Do they ever let you go
When you’ve tried do they hide deep inside
Is it someone that you know
You’re just a picture
You’re an image caught in time
We’re a lie you and I we’re words without a rhyme
There’s no sign of the morning coming
You’ve been left on your own
Like a rainbow in the dark
Just a rainbow in the dark
From The Sign Of The Southern Cross, reject evil:
From the book, the word is spoken
Whispers from forgotten psalms
Gather all around the young ones
They will make us strong
Reach above your dreams of pleasure
Given life to those who died
Look beyond your own horizons
Sail the ship of signs
And it’s the Sign of the Southern Cross
It’s the Sign of the Southern Cross
Fade away, fade away
Break the crystal ball
Fade away, fade away
I can’t accept it anymore
From Children Of The Sea, what happens when you are self-centered and slothful:
Reaching for the stars, we blind the sky
We sailed across the air before we learned to fly
We thought that it could never end
We’d glide above the ground before we learned to run, run
Now it seems our world has come undone
Oh they say that it’s over
And it just had to be
Ooh they say that it’s over
We’re lost children of the sea, oh
We made the mountains shake with laughter as we played
Hiding in our corner of the world
Then we did the demon dance and rushed to nevermore
Threw away the key and locked the door
LOOK OUT! The sky is falling down!
LOOK OUT! The world is spinning round and round and round!
LOOK OUT! The sun is going black, black
LOOK OUT! It’s never never never coming back, LOOK OUT!
There’s a very Catholic sensibility at work here and all the elements are present including a belief in free will, the positive power of guilt, and looking at the world without blinders.
If Ronnie James Dio was a servant of Sathan, then he was a very bad one.
On the other hand, the members of the Westboro Baptist Church are doing top-notch work for Old Scratch.

Bob:
I am a member of PGR as you know, and I understand SPC Tomlinson’s family has extended an invitation for PGR to attend (without that invite, PGR would not plan a mission). As such, a PGR mission should be forthcoming.
-LTB
Thanks for the heads-up. If the PGR ever needs any publicity, they can have it here at TCOTS.
Godspeed LTB!
Gotta wonder how much Soros-style leftie funding makes it’s way into Westboro’s coffers… enabling their nonsense. Jackasses.

On a personal note, I have contacted a few friends of mine is motorcycle clubs. I understand there is growing support for some presence (NOT PGR) at Forest Lawn this weekend by different types of “Angels” then WTB expects. And they will NOT worried about WBCs civil rights, I assure you. I may go to see the show and throw Ronnie “horns”…

1) Added your first three paragraphs as an Update.
2) If you go, please throw a malokia for me to ward off the WBC bastards.
Noted and linked with more than usual gratitude:

I owe you.
I confirmed SPC Tomlinson’s body has been delivered to the family in escort by PGR. They will also be shielding the family at his memorial.

Added as an UPDATE.
Thanks for the tip of the fedora sir and for doing such a fine write up. I hope PGR is there in force. God bless their efforts and God bless the Tomlinson family for all that they must endure. And Ronnie James Dio was a rock-n-roller, surely not a servant of the Father of Lies. I didn’t know him personally but let his soul ‘s destiny be a matter between him and the eternities governed by Heavenly Father and not the subject of some Westboro money-grubbing sideshow. Most all people deserve some modicum of respect and/or dignity when they leave this earth.
Spot-on, Red. And, you’re welcome.
Totally linked!

Bob:
I have the final update on SPC Joshus Tomlinson’s memorial – along with a video – posted. Thousands attended along the route. A grand memorial for a true hero.
http://viewedfromtheright.blogspot.com/2010/05/spc-joshua-tomlinson-successful-final.html
It went well. PGR attended I understand, and Westboro Baptist was a no-show. Thank God.
-LTB
Thank God. And thanks for the news, I’ll link to your posting in my Memorial Day post.
