The Spot-On Quote Of The Day…

26 February 2010 @ 19:12

…is awarded to Danny Williams, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, for telling us the truth as to why he decided to have his heart problem operated on in The United States rather than use the Canada’s socialist health care system:

This was my heart, my choice and my health.

We here at TCOTS to be the most eloquent and most succinct argument against government-run health care we have ever heard.

Spot-on, Danny boy.

The great irony is that socialised medicine takes the quality of care that middle-class Americans take for granted (over 200 million Americans are happy with their medical care) and makes it accessible to only the wealthiest and most well-connected people. Middle- and lower- class people, who ordinarily would have access to excellent facilities and doctors, receive care that would appall members of Doctors Without Borders.

Exactly who is being helped by this situation?

The Illuminated Ones, aka the Leftist cadre that runs things once they’ve collectivized the country. Think O’Brien in Nineteen Eighty-Four; think the Politburo and their dachas.
