The Spot-On Quote Of The Day…
…is awarded to Irish Cicero because he understands:
The Democrats are America’s mafia party: public unions, the welfare state and stimulus money to Democratic districts. The Democratic Party in deed, if not in thought, admires Sicilian political methods.
Giusto, amico.
We also send IC a big THANK YOU for reminding us of this great Ayn Rand quote:
We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force.
Cicero has always been good to your humble Dispatcher with the linky love and we, in turn, try never to let a day go by without reading the Washington Rebel. There be some damn fine bloggin’ there. I’m Bob Belvedere and I approve of this blog.
We also enjoy the sights over at Washington Rebel as well:

You are one funny bugger!
We now have two governing avenues to travel. One is the diminishing traditional “admire and applaud” system and the other, from the Old World, is the growing “envy and punish” system. President Obama favors “envy and punish” and pursues legal means of justifying them both, beyond the limits of our Constitution, which is based upon defending the “admire and applaud” concept. The recent vote in Oregon to tax the small business person out of existence reflects the Obama side of governance, promoting an Old World mercantilist model of government partnering with large business to act as one, leaving the individual pebble dropper out of the loop.
